[Tier 3] SEVENTEEN - Say Yes (Lyrics + Melon Premiere)

You can probably tell from the length of this video, but we had a LOT to talk about with this one :D so we'll keep it short here, but the tldr version of what we talk about is that

1) we love this track for the sound it has, and it's got very strong ties to a specific K-music from a specific era

2) the live performance was again, mixed in a very cool way and we had to talk about it a bit XD

3) we already know there are other videos you recommended for Say Yes, so let us know if you want us to check them out too and talk about the mix and all

If not, we got the next track to get to anyways, so tell us what you want to see next :D

Enjoy <3

Thank you! I had no idea of this background info. Seventeen are truly the most talented. No other Gen3 thru Gen5 group can match this talent. Any group can write a hip hop beat with some surface level lyrics and sell it with some member taking off his shirt. But those are short lived era based songs, they just dont stick. Seventeen music however is what listeners have said they return to for healing and comforts. Seventeen writes timeless music not passerby fad music. BTW, have you seen them dance? Yeeeee!

Change Up, and Q&A (Scoups, Woozi, Vernon, Ailee) please

DK just dropped a cover 😌

Let's do a reaction to CHANGE UP by the SVT unit leaders: S.Coups, Woozi, and Hoshi. Are we allowed to skip around? Can you also react to SVTs Dingo Tipsy Live2 after you listen to their songs, 'Our Dawn is Brighter Than Day' and 'Drift Away?' Then there shouldn't be anymore spoilers for you on Dingo Tipsy Live2. Pretty Pweeeeeze!?!??!?! I'll love you forever and ever! 🩵🩷🩵🩷🩵🩷

I don't know if you guys have noticed but all of the composers/producers on Seventeen's early albums apart from Woozi/Bumzu are or were part of Brand New Music (Kiggen, MasterKey, Lishbeats etc...). Pledis' old CEO, Han Sung Soo, and BNM's CEO, Rhymer, are quite close and Rhymer was actually supposed to be completely in charge of SVT's debut album. But when he met the boys, they brought him some tracks they had made as a hobby and after listening to them he immediately went back to Han Sung Soo and was like "these guys are super talented, Woozi especially, his songs are even good enough for the group to debut with ". And that's how Seventeen became self-producing ! BNM's producers were also instrumental in Woozi's development as a composer/producer alongside Bumzu.

'Say Yes' is such a good nostalgia song, the fake fadeout caught me off guard the first time but it's done so beautifully, you can't help but love it every time. I've never been fan of ballads, but SVT Ballads are probably the best thing ever. I'd suggest that you continue with the album, then go back to see the rest of the performances. Considering you still have more than half of their discography in line, seeing those performances will make you find new things in them and love them even more.

These two are my favourite duo for svt. I hope they can be an official unit and release unit albums..I have BooSeok playlist dedicate for their (mostly covers), osts, solo and also duet. My favourite duet are (covers).. 2021 KBS Song Festival - Together https://youtu.be/qLOFtPCq98o?si=tGE58SznAWTBX0hq or https://youtu.be/3peYxYRmjIk?si=FoQh-5KGKlIbBb23 Knowing Bros - A Tiring Day https://youtu.be/QWkeUY1vNwk?si=53TyDWP9GQhMt5cR Hope you’ll check it some day..

Im happy to see u both appreciate it <3 Im okay with waiting for more Say Yes videos, theres still so many songs to get to since this album is such a masterpiece. I recommend this performance from their Japan concert here: https://youtu.be/-rdL-kgyNFk?si=vNVRxnR4dVt58mLZ

I'm personally on the side of continuing with the album and circling back eventually as there are just so much more tracks and albums to come. With that said, the next track Drift Away's links: Lyrics: https://youtu.be/aRXyGyFTC14?si=-WyuFsnzvf1hVL_v Melon Premiere: https://youtu.be/oZfeCKc9f0Y?si=32ujYF610GbT7VMi Shining Diamond Tour: https://youtu.be/I7QEWTj-1c0?si=DvFIUy4CXnu7TEYV This song is also originally one of the mission songs from their predebut show which was performed by Joshua, The8, Seungkwan and Vernon.

I really like Say Yes, but I'm gonna be selfish and ask that you continue with the album and eventually circle back to it again. Drift Away is great, and then you'll only have one more song on the album (not including the unit's versions of the other songs) and everything that gets me closer to Han-C's reaction to Fast Pace (Going Seventeen album) is a step that's necessary to me.
