[Tier 3] SEVENTEEN - Hit (Popular) Song (Lyrics + V Live Concert & Japan Performance)

We have had chances in the past with other groups to get into the specifics of performing live, mic settings, mixing, mastering, etc. but not so much with SVT. And thanks to your suggestions, we finally got that chance.
So first off, we loved the music. We talk about it in detail so that should be covered. If you're confused about the word (유행가 [yoo-haeng-ga]) and what we discuss, let us know.
With that out of the way, we do need to be clear that we're not saying that whoever thought the audio was kinda off doesn't know about music or whatever. In one sense, y'all are absolutely right, and I'm sure there are plenty of people who already knew exactly what we're talking about and were already on the same page, and just meant to say that the audio is mediocre in a completely DIFFERENT way, which, again, is true.
So take that part with a grain of salt. The main point was to say that this kind of raw live vocal is normally how live performance that is recorded and presented raw would sound 99% of the time, and the better, cleaner sound you get form other performance clips (including concerts) are the results of mixing and touch-ups, which doesn't negate the skill anyone has, but only makes it sound as great as it would've to the live audiences there. Because we guarantee you that it'd sound at least twice as better to whoever's watching it live at the venue (if you've ever sang into a mic, and have had a chance to compared a video of you singing VS the audio file that resulted directly from singing into the mic, you'll know what we mean).

this is one of DKs fav songs. funnily in recent gose he named this song as one of his fav while talking to woozi and woozi goes i wrote 99% of our music and hit song is in that 1% of sings i didnt. i wont fully explain what happens incase spoiler for a later date lol

I feel like I'm going back to my early days as a carat watching these videos along with you guys :)

Like, I listened to Dokyeom and made it my alarm so it's kind of a reflex when I hear the beginning part😅. Wow, the explanation for the last video is so good! As someone who hasn't had the chance to go any live music setting, it's interesting to know how the mixing and audio play an important part in a live performance. Love this! Can't wait for Say Yes, an all-time favorite and such an underrated track, for sure!

Yu-Haeng-Ga is kinda old korean expression (used up to late 80’s early 90’s) which represent a top songs that is loved by all age and especially general listener. The term Yu-Haeng-Ga in the lyrics is like temporary title. You can fill in with their current hit songs. The best thing about this songs and lyrics is, in terms of melody - it is experimental with different sounds and arrangements (promising what sound they are capable to produce) and lyrically is their hope and wish of how their produced songs would mean to their listener. It is basically a blueprint of what Seventeen was, would and will sound. Seventeen main goals when producing is to create songs that would match your mood and weather. That is why they never stay on the same sounds through their discography and always try on new genres even in the b-sides. You can never catch then sounding the same throughout their discography. Some songs, may not hit you at the first listen, but when you listened it on the right mood or weather, suddenly the song make sense. That is the magic of Seventeen sounds. If Yu-Haeng-Ga is their hope and wish for what their songs would be, Maestro is the prove and summary of what they have achieved and will continue to create in the future. I love seventeen songs and lyrics cuz they were raw and real while still relatable. Simple sounded yet sincere, experimental but never estrange. Anyway. Looking forward to the next one! This VLive was a Pretty U promo wrap-up and Seungkwan's voice was pretty overworked at this point having to belt out Pretty U's 3 high notes live for every performance. The VLive itself is pretty interesting with live performances of Pretty U, Jam Jam, Man.Sae and Love Letter (the last 2 are also on this album) and recaps of the important events of this era. It might be fun to check out at the end of this album if you guys have the time, I can provide a link if needed 😊
