It's always great to revisit a song we've reacted to, but we feel that a lot more with these subunit tracks.
For MATZ, there were parts we completely forgot about. For IT's You, it was about rediscovering how sexy (provocative) the dance is. And for Youth, it was about all those and more, including the lyrics, the performance, and more. ...which we really didn't expect.

They were both attending the same dance academy when they were in grade 9 but in different cities. Their director at the academy thought they should meet. So he arranged for them to meet up in Seoul. Both Yunho and Mingi have said that within 15 minutes of meeting they were friends. They would go to pc cafes, eat together, dance, and just hang out. The night before their auditions they talked on the phone. Wished each other luck, but neither ever mentioned which company. The next day they saw each other at KQ. They were both accepted but Mingi wasn’t able to join right away. And the rest as they say is history. Ateez truly were destined to be together.

It's quite impressive that Mingi wrote such lyrics at that age, usually I would expect someone much older to write such lyrics when thinking about their youth. By the way, Yunho's choreo for this song is unnecessarily sexy for this song. Like, the choreo definitely doesn't match the lyrics; as you mentioned (I'm not complaining about it being sexy though). Also, at the Paris and Brussels shows, Mingi and Yunho did the most wholesome things after that dance break. It warmed my heart 🥹

The way both the lyrics and the phone call are based on their experiences just makes it a million times more emotional and the dance is so beautiful, especially the dance break. I also very much relate to what D Some was saying about finding songs like this more touching than the ones with a more hopeful tone. I think especially with this song it's also not needed because the fact that this song exists and they performed it together in front of thousands of people shows that they are no longer in that same dark place, they made it out and largely because they have each other and the other members 🧡
