Ohhhhhh boy was this fun. Okay so listen up.
The reason why we haven't reacted to Super for so long (despite a LOT of people asking us to do so even before we started SVT contents here) is because we already knew the song and the MV.
BUT. Turns out, we didn't know shit.
Firstly, when we were listening to the track on our own, we never paid attention to the CC or anything (also cuz we normally heard the song outside, not at home) so we had zero chance of delving into the lyrics, let alone the English CC.
Secondly, we never watched the performance. End of the story. Enough reason for us to check it out in full before moving into a more (again) structured reaction.
So here we have it-SUPER, aka SONOGONG!
We get a bit into the lyrics, the themes, and the dance after the first performance video, and then go full fanboy mode for the choreo, so you'll have lots of fun watching us go crazy as we always do with SVT contents nowadays XD

2025-04-17 23:50:48 +0000 UTCYes for the recent videos, I think it would be fun to watch some Inside Seventeen videos to understand their behind the scenes stuff like choreography practice, syncing up with everyone, etc Even more so inside seventeen with concert prep/caratland where they rearrange songs for unit switch ups, and personally guilty pleasure of mine is their “songs that do not suit” dance challenge for caratland

Woozi said many bad things were happening to them and around them and he made Super with the hope that they would be able to overcome those hard times, like Son Wukong always does even in seemingly hopeless situations. The choreo for Super was abig collaborative effort. Pledis put all their hands on deck for this project : all their performance directors chipped in to help SVT's usual performance director (Yoon Hyelim) and many choreographers helped Choi Youngjun (SVT's main choreographer) with the choreo itself. They also hired dancers from a lot pf different (very well known) teams on top of Seventeen's usual dance crew (Team Same) to reach the amount of people needed.

(Well…it’s just me who can’t live without listen to Super *with* Hoshi adlib. I need it to survive…)

Jeonghan and scoups were still recovering from their injuries and they put that on the choreo in a smart way (sorry for my english but i hope i ade myself clear)

2025-04-16 12:09:02 +0000 UTCAs a 90s kid who watched dragonball after school on toonami but didnt know it was based on "journey to the west" until much later in life i made all my connections to the lyrics to dragonball (which was obviously at least part of the intent based on the choreo and final verse) the flying cloud, instant transmission choreo, the power pole etc had me GEEKING when the songs came out. Recognizing the shadow clones was also HUGE to understanding why they had so many dancers as well. I cant believe they put out something that epic this far into their career. A lot of artists of their caliber would cruise control a little (understandably) but not seventeen. Jeeeesus

I know every one will say the same of their fav group, but seriously in my humble opinion, NO ONE, and i mean no one can outdo their performances and synchronicity. Although of cos the dance choreo is credit to the choreographer Youngjun, but hey, even he says he is able to choreo this only cos it's SVT who PERFORMED it to perfection.

So much that he wanted to become a hero just like the manhwas, overcoming challenges with ease. But totally goofy in variety shows haha maestro is insane but I just wanna say that F*ck my life isn’t a bside it’s also a title track. FML is the album where they have double title tracks - Super and F*ck My Life. Yes Minghao (yes I refuse to call him The8 lol) was injured and seungkwan got injured during Hit too! :( I’m so happy with the Seventeen contents can’t wait for the next one! ♡

And don’t know if you all noticed, but during the last line (“This is the ending song of this 만화“), the choreo looks like they’re flipping pages of a comic book Hope you check out God of Music soon — it’s also quite grand, esp when performed at the year-end shows

2025-04-16 01:09:26 +0000 UTCahhh i clicked so fast!!! i miss the super era so much but i’m so happy you decided to check it out despite having already heard the song! i know you said THIS was grand as they have so many dancers but this is just a FRACTION of the production value because they actually had 228 background dancers for the music video which is insane when you think about it. there’s so many cool tricks in the choreography to highlight the sonogong references including the cloning move at the end of the dance but to confirm your thoughts on the8 he did in fact injure his collarbone so he only had minimal choreography but for the MAMA 2023 performance they gave him a AMAZING solo but the downside is that we have no scoups due to his ACL injury so that’s another video to watch if you have the time! 🫶🏽

Also, yes it’s amazing that their back up dancers are almost as good as them and that they synchronize well with them. It’s because they have been with seventeen for a couple of years already, as most of their teams are as well, and have created good relationships with them.

One of my favorite details in the lyrics is the last line "this is the manhwa's ending song" which sounds so much more epic than the english cc "this is the cartoon's credits song" 🩵🩷 In their MAMA 2023 performance, they even changed it up to "this is MAMA's ending song" which was such a genius move this is song is truly a celebration of seventeen's journey and achievements, which is why it's very special to carats as well, especially since this album also won them a daesang. I think woozi said it was one of the best songs he made, like just hearing the start of it gives them goosebumps when they perform
