We talk about everything in the video, so instead of writing things here, let me just to give you some context on some parts of the episode as usual!
Firstly, at 30:26, the on-screen text quite literally says "The bear does the somersault and the fox performs the trick".
The correct answer then would be "The bear does the somersault only for the owner/trainer to get all the money" or to keep things parallel, "and the owner gets all the money", which is an old Korean saying that talks about how work / reward system is flawed and the one doing all the heavy lifting doesn't necessarily get the reward they deserve.
A comparable English expression would be "The cat's on the roof, but the mouse gets the cheese."
With that, we go to 30:36, where Dino quietly answers, "the mouse hears the words by night" which comes from a different saying, "the bird hears the words by day, and the mouse hears the words by night," which is an expression about how you must be careful with your words because there is always someone listening.
Also, 34:30 uses a completely different saying, which, I guess they did so for the sake of simplicity, but the correct saying goes "A leaking bowl at home also leaks outside," which means a similar thing to 'a leopard can't change its sports'.
They gave Dino the first part (a leaking bowl at home), to which he answered, 'is a shame'. The one they used in the caption is 'a bamboo basket can't carry water', which talks about something that is fundamentally flawed to carry out its intended purpose (and is not exactly a proper saying to begin with).

For example: • 딩크족 (DINK group) • 캥거루족 (Kangaroo group) • 노마드족 (Nomad group) • 욜로족 (YOLO group) Similarly, there’s 파이어족 (FIRE group - Financial Independence, Retire Early) pronounced as Pa Ee Uh Jok. And there’s 불족 (Bul Jok - Spicy pork trotters). At first, Seungkwan didn’t know about the FIRE group, so instead of saying ‘FIRE group’, he accidentally said 불족 ‘Bul jok’(food) , since he knew the answer had to end with -족 [jok] (group). Everyone burst into laughter because it’s just the name of a dish. But then, since “Fire” in Korean is Bul (불), the members joked, “Hey, that’s actually a correct answer!” and rolled with it, saying, “Yes, that’s what he meant! We love speaking Koreans!” I guess no one initially thought of it that way, which made the moment even funnier! Hehe. Hope it answered XD

2025-03-01 17:16:48 +0000 UTCseventeen is really a bunch of active and competitive kids. each of them has distinct hobbies- sports (seungkwan-badminton/volley, woozi & dk-baseball), tea ceremonies (the8), gaming (wonwoo), bracelet/perfume making (joshua), doing lego (jun & jeonghan), painting (the8 & mingyu). even in their practice room, they'll install net to play badminton. the8 LOVES tea, that's why he was really happy to get the tea set. him showing off to the staff was so cute the kiss abbrevation really took me out. and the way you guys know about it too? 😭
