This choreo is iconic and made quite a splash in the Kpop industry when it first came out (it was praised by industry insiders and other idols everywhere and even won awards). The choreo strikes the perfect balance between intricate moves and an almost robot-like synchronicity while also managing to convey so much emotion. It's amazing how they pull it off. Since you guys are doing Getting Closer next, definitely react to their MAMA performance of it as well, it's just as iconic. They unveiled both the song and choreo for the first time there as a surprise and it was also their first time doing a proper "dark" concept. The whole fandom was freaking out 😅

They are definitely one of, if not the, best groups when it comes to their intricacies and synchronization. As a side note, the "X-Men" choreo was in EXO's Monster - at least that's where I saw it first, but with that many more members, it was that much more impressive.

Honestly during the dance practice video when you all went quiet after it finished, I don’t know why my eyes literally teared up. Maybe cos I’m in the hospital bed and watching someone else who has never watched this and getting so impressed by it makes my heart swelled with pride. Not to compare with other Kpop groups but I really really think SVT truly worked soooooo hard to get where they are today. The recognition is delayed. They were told in the face too many times how they will never succeed cos there are just “too many of them” but they persisted and turn their large number of people in a group to their advantage. Synchronising themselves to a point where people think it’s AI. No one bothered to check them out since they debuted about the same time as BTS and they got overshadowed since BTS made it big. As for Don’t Wanna Cry, it’s funny you guys said “was it sped up”. You should check out one of the variety show they attended “idols room” I think? Where to actually sped up for real 2x of this original choreo and still nail it! Also I'd recommend you to check out Pretty U MV and Dance practice. It's one of their early tracks and the song that got them their first win at a music show. It's a very adorable song and the dance is like a whole teen musical vibe.

I became 10000% Carat when I saw Hoshi, who is the performance leader & co-choreographer of this song, answered the question of 'how can you guys be that synchronized?'. They've got this question so many times, and he never tried to come up with any fancy or cool answer. He always answered this simply as 'the only way to make it is to practice till it works'. SVT is extremely talented but also extremely diligent, hard-working, dedicated people, and that's how they could be in the position now. So proud of them!!! (crying hard!!)

Don't Wanna Cry was probably the first song that really boosted their popularity outside of Asia and I think the choreo had to do a lot with that - as people have mentioned the 2x speed version got super popular. Also fun fact: this dance connects with their other songs in their following comeback, Without You and Clap, so when you have a chance to check those out it will be cool to watch a performance where they do all 3 consecutively. Excited for Getting Closer next hehehe...
