This is definitely the best one of the lot because it's new and he's improved greatly since the last time he made the covers. Out of the old covers, 'Numb' and 'Lemon Tree' are my favourites. Not sure if you still have the link I sent you that's a playlist of all the .by Hongjoong vids

It's the little details he does dedicated to the artist that make his covers extra special like using yellow and pink (which makes red) because red was just for MJ to wear. The bar scene the dance off the whole choreo and styling. One of the best. Now I'm gunna sound like a broken record and suggest Jongho's jjongst covers again π

2025-02-20 09:03:04 +0000 UTCAs someone who doesn't listen to M.J.- this was such a surprise! I loved it more than I thought I would. He did excellent!! I love the rap break and just the dash of Hongjoong creativity! I feel like every choice he made was the correct one.

2025-02-20 03:53:35 +0000 UTCMy favorite part is the break, where HJ is in the spotlight and you see the dancers getting closer in slow-mo each time the light shines. It is so cinematic! Overall though this is probably my favorite cover he's done. - HJ also said he chose not to wear red because it's iconic to MJ, and is his color. So to pay homage, he had the gangs be Yellow and Magenta because together they make red. π

I just wish you had watched 'BY HONGJOONG' in order starting from #1, because you can really see the evolution of HJ in that way. On another note, when you mentioned that Yellow HJ reminded you of RAIN, I was reminded of something from HJ's I.M On The Beat. He had made a comment to I.M about when they had 'worked together" on a rap piece for a collaboration song. It was a Pepsi commercial from July 2021 that featured RAIN, Monsta X's Shownu, Hyungwon & I.M, BraveGirls Yujeong & Yuna, and Ateez's Hongjoong & Yunho. 2025-02-20 01:53:25 +0000 UTCI really loved his cover and as a MJ fan that grew up watching his videos since I was little, he did such an amazing job. The remix he did remind me so much of 80's movies soundtracks and that is something cool because that was the time MJ's videos shined the most and he always did a great production for them so is fair HJ did the same. The whole vibe of the video is 80's movies. As a soundtrack fan from that time, is nostalgic, kind of make you transport to that time. His rap about online keyboard warriors battles is such a real issue right now, same the gangs were around the time of this song. I just get sad many armies attacked his cover so much, even a DJ that is an army made fun of his cover. I think the hate was unnacessary, but I am happy MJ fans praised a lot and they are honestly the ones that with atinys are the audience for this cover.

My favourite one is Lemon Tree because that song holds a lot of meaning and memories for me and I love how he rearranged it so much that I almost like it even more than the original! Can't wait for you to check out the rest π

Talking to ATINY Hongjoong said MJ's message in this song was to stop pointless fighting in the streets and he wanted to bring that to today where the fighting is online. Even the spear Yellow has is made from a motherboard. I'm looking forward to the behind! Sadly he said he forgot to film himself when he was working on the lyrics. BY. HONGJOONG are covers he arranged\produced himself. They are literally by Hongjoong. You can see his progression if you watch through them. He's stopping at 8 (yes for ATEEZ) because he can't be good at everything all at once so he's stopping this project so he can spend his time on new music. He's currently producing a song he's writing with each member. So far we have Be Alright with Yunho and Snowflake with San.
