Okay, all that aside, we're LOVING the fact that this show is holding our hands and teaching us the members' names, character, and chemistry. It's such a great intro variety show that kills two birds with one stone.
It's lovely to see you all enjoying this show just as much as we are :D so let's keep this party going and add more to our list down the road! :)

These dudes are SERIOUSLY COMPETITIVE when it comes to games regardless of the prize honestly i think it stemmed from the fact that they really got nothing way back (sharing 1 bathroom for all 13 members, using 1 tube of toothpaste, from the song cheers S.coups rapped about living on a very small room fitting all 13 of them) they could easily buy these stuff and obviously they have a lot of money now but they’re just built like that - competitive - because I think they had to be when they were younger haha

Also Jun and Hoshi are also the fake maknae of the group, tbh they all have different sides to them it depends on the situation, you will see it more when you watch Going Seventeen and other content of theirs.

I have to admit that I have watched these more than once, but I really enjoy how you added extra subs and context to what’s happening. Seventeen’s jokes and skits (especially in Going Seventeen) are often involving Korean puns and wordplay, so I (as non Korean) love it when added context and explanations are given by reactors and commenters.

2025-02-15 23:25:53 +0000 UTCI would say that's down to their personalities mostly. The hyung line (mostly 95 line + Hoshi tbh) are the most competitive by far. In the dongsaeng line, the most competitive are probably Mingyu, Seungkwan and Dino but they are naturally wayyyy more rule-abinding than notorious cheaters™ Jeonghan and Joshua, for whom it's basically 2nd nature to think about ways to bend the rules. To add to that, the members who get teased the most in the group are S.Coups, Mingyu, Seungkwan and Dino. That's all 3 of the most competitive/leader-type younger members lol. So even if those 3 do find ways to cheat, the other members (whether older or younger) will block their attempts just to tease them. And of course, all of this only applies to game/variety shows, their dynamic when doing work-related things (like song production, concert production etc...) is very different because there's no competition involved.

2025-02-15 11:36:40 +0000 UTCtheir dynamic honestly confuses me after watching their content lol. cuz while everyone can voice their opinions and gets heard (and they speak super informal half the time) usually they end up going with whoever the hyung is anyway if its 1v1 or hyung line against dongsaengs. usually the youngest are the first to back off to avoid fighting and let the oldest have their way unless its majority of entire group against one or two older members, or if hoshi is involved lol. the gose staff kinda do that too if its a close call for games. I've noticed they usually side with older members and create more space for loopholes/cheating than with younger members. but maybe thats just for content/shows?

2025-02-14 23:08:59 +0000 UTCS.Coups is indeed the youngest in his family (he said he was raised like a precious youngest daughter lol), while Dino is the oldest in his family. This makes a really fun, kinda "flipped" dynamic in the group. Also Seventeen has mentioned they don't really have age hierarchy in the group. On official variety shows they use half-polite speech with each other but on less "official" occasions, they often completely forego honorifics (like not even using "hyung"). This also means that anything that affects the group can be very time-consuming to decide because everyone's opinion is given the same weight, but they realized this worked better for them.

And you really got their general vibes accurately- Mingyu being the optimistic one, Jeonghan the flowery talker while Jun is just done with them. When you start Going Seventeen, you should start from Going Seventeen 2020 (it's when it officially became a variety contrnt show and not also behind the scenes of Seventeen's actual performances) and it includes a lot of their legendary moments and really great at getting to know their vibe. Their mafia episodes are amazing.
