Thank you everyone who suggested we react to this first for continuity's sake or whatever else because we thoroughly enjoyed this as a mood setter, and while we have ZERO clue how Gone Away could possibly be connected to this one narratively or otherwise, we are very excited.
Howl in Harmony was a special series that's now dear to our hearts, and reacting to the songs afterwards makes it even more special. I wasn't joking when I said I'm possibly MORE excited to check out these unit songs than the solo tracks. Okay, well, it's hard to really say but you know what I mean (lee know).

And like you say, it's not really a spoiler, because you wouldn't know to look for it today if nobody tells you. But Mixtape:OH should come first because it was originally released a full 2 months before the album, specifically to send a message to stay. It gave reassurance that our boy Hyunjin was still a part of skz. When you watch it, view it with this mindset: It's the end of June 2021. Kingdom: Legendary war has just been won a couple of weeks prior. Howl In Harmony and Kingdom Week has not been aired yet. After Hyunjin was put on hiatus after the first Kingdom episode, he has been all but lost to the world and to Stay. Not a single word from him, or from JYP about him, for months. Just rumours and speculations and bad articles (that ended up having no legs to stand on). And then SKZ goes and release another Mixtape prior to their next album, as they do. That's not new. The day comes, the MV drops, and ... the collective sigh of relief could be heard across time zones. Even the way that it's done in the MV, which, if you don't know, you're never going to realise what it's meant to signify, is just ...🥹🥹

(or well it's not really a connection but more like a bridge lol) watch the gone away mv and listen close from the the very beginning and you'll notice xD otherwise there's no connection, so you wouldn't know if you were just listening to songs on the album with the audio only. unless is missed anything myself lol

LOL I will give you a teeny tiny hint how Surfin' and Gone Away are connected. Or rather.....not HOW, but WHEN. The connection is at the **very beginning** of Gone Away. And that's all I'm going to say. ------------------------------- On a separate note: when you do watch Gone Away, you'll see that Han, Seungmin and I.N's acting is amazing. And if you guys ever watch the M/V for Winter Falls, you'll see some amazing acting from Hyunjin. I don’t consider this a spoiler because you guys wouldn’t know unless we told you. So when you DO react to it, put yourself in the mindset that we weren’t expecting Hyunjin and then maybe you can kind of get a feel for how stay felt. There’s actually compilation videos of stays reacting to the mv and seeing Hyunjin for the first time and it makes my cry like a baby when I watch 😂

I remember first time watching it just admiring the colors behind Lee Know and how pretty it all sounded.... and then they slowly zoom out to reveal the 'actual' setting. Still makes me laugh.
