Ahhh I love “Boca” so much, for so many reasons. Probably my favorite musical parts are Dami’s immortal “Hol up- I’m a geek, the big paradox” with the beat coming in, and that incredible bridge straight through to the end with the harmonizing. They just capture something so epic with their music? I second what everyone else is saying in terms of song reccs, which is to do Odd Eye to finish out the Dystopia trilogy. Thanks so much for this reaction and putting some really cool music stuff that I couldn’t quite explain into words ☺️. ✌🏻&🩵, y’all!

You're close with the meaning. The whole dystopia trilogy is calling out hate speech, online bullying, and social media. Scream was from the perspective of the victim, talking about being blindly persecuted because of the hate that seems to grow with not real target. They draw parallels to witch hunts and being burned at the stake since that's how modern day witch hunts happen online. At the end of Scream they decide to take their voice back and flip the script on the attackers saying "I wanna make you scream". This can be taken in a few different ways though the most obvious is that they decide to attack back. However, since DC always have messages of hope and being true to one's self in their music I take this change in the lyrics to mean that they want to use their music as a way to put positivity into the world and they want us, fans and non fans, to look at them and Scream for them when they're on stage. In Boca, they've taken on the role of protector and are interceding on the behalf of others who are being attacked. They're standing up for those who are bullied and telling the people who hide behind anonymity that if they don't shut their Boca (mouth), they'll do it for them. Odd Eye will round out the trilogy and deals with the lens that we view the world through, specifically social media, and how it can warp our perception of reality. Once you guys wrap up the trilogy you can move ahead to the Apocalypse trilogy or back to the beginning with their Nightmare series. I also highly recommend checking out their albums. While they are known for their rock sound their discography is one of the most diverse I've ever come across inside or outside of K-Pop. The Dystopia: The Tree of Language is a good place to start if you want to get a taste of their range in genres.

I agree with the previous comment, finish out the Dystopia trilogy with Odd Eye! After maybe BEcause? It's outside of the series albums. The Apocalypse series is really fun: Maison, Vision (one of my faves), and Bon Voyage.

You should do Odd Eye next, to complete the Dystopia trilogy!

Oooh, yes. The first time i heard this i immediately put ot on my kpop playlist. Actually, I first heard it in either a compilation or one of the K-pop games where you save one drop one. And it played the part where she says hold up. I'm a geeked up, big paradox and I loved that one clip so much. I immediately downloaded the song and added it to my K-pop playlist. I've never seen the video though. This is pretty. Watching D'some figuring out the keys? While watching the video is interesting. Are they saying where is the love? I could have swore they were saying where is the line? 😱 This is why I need to listen to the lyrics or look at the lyrics I mean. Ive noticed that they like their rock/metal switches.
