I'm fine with random encounters in RPGs, the one thing that irritates me to no end is the usual repetition in music. Mother 1 requires you to grind a lot at multiple points (particularly with each new party member) and even though the combat and visuals are much more primitive than most pokemon games, it's much less annoying to have a random encounter. That's because pokemon usually has one wild encounter theme, while mother has several, depending on the type of enemy. A lot of times, the wild encounter music in pokemon doesn't even sound good the first time listening to it. Battle with a dangerous foe from the mother ost sounds WAY better than most wild encounter songs from pokemon, even from modern systems. Idk the encounters themselves I don't mind, just make the music better and add some variety lol
