It's fun to dive deep and think about what the connection of the album/songs to the lore at the same time, sometimes it's also fun to just enjoy the music as it is. ❤️

2024-06-09 03:08:44 +0000 UTC^^this! I feel like most of the album is tied to the actual lore in this case, which isn't necessarily always the case. The lore is sad, in like, the most mundane and relatable way. Adults who have real-world pressures that have grown apart, bills that have to be paid, friendships that fade, but memories that live on. Yet still, I'm excited for Part 2, because there are little hints sprinkled in each person's entry that the 8 friends are still connected in some way. Also omg I hope they release a book. That would be a perfect tie-in.

2024-06-09 02:59:53 +0000 UTCAh yes, the clarinet/flute conundrum that had orchestral atinys worldwide baffled and enraged (jk). I like that it was the opening scene of the mv, because it sort of lets you know what you're in for - that while the lyrics at first listen may seem like one thing - i.e. the usual hip hop schtick - the song (and the mv) is in fact incredibly unserious. (Am I going too deep? It's probably not that deep.) Anyway, I adore the Latin influences in the past two albums. What attracted me to Ateez in the first place was the sort of global sound to their music - the way the first series of albums sounded almost Caribbean in the back, and how they've explored the world now with different sounds as they go on while still keeping that quintessential Ateezness.

2024-06-09 00:30:45 +0000 UTCIt may seem like just another bragging song and they are just flexing but for me Ateez is saying they achieved all that thru hardwork and despite them already having all those accolades, it's just another day for them to work hard as per usual. And as San said on one of his Bouncy line "we're still hungry". Lore-wise, upon reading the diary notes in the album, it's kinda sad though. My take is they had a golden hour when they were in World Z, they were important figures, they were fighting for something huge. But now that they are back in World A, they seem like just normal people now, like a reality check I might say. They need to work now, their dreams together are dying down. They are separated, living their own lives, facing their own struggles, while still thinking of their time together and the moment they shared. And those thoughts somehow make the next track Empty Box still connected to Work in some way. (Hongjoong mentioned about them releasing something (others speculate it's a book, who knows) that will help us understand the whole lore so far and their worldview. Sooooo there's that to look forward to!) Work dance practice also came out! Hope you can watch/react to that some time in the near future. :)

It's like they're looking back on their time as ATEEZ and explain what the golden hour is to them and that this is the final chapter of the current storyline and part 2 will be the opening to a new story in their lives. Also, I think this song is literally about work in ever way. At least, to me it is. I am also addicted to Mingi's "Gotta Work. Gotta make that money make purse (yes) Gotta fur coat so I make it purr". Regarding, Eenie Meenie, I didn't notice the similarity until I heard it after listening to this album. I really want to hear what Hongjoong has to say about that. Apparently Jongho is the golden maknae and the maknae-on-top, so they made fun of that by making him the maknae-on-bottom.

2024-06-08 19:46:00 +0000 UTC1. ostrich and chickens stealing the choreo spotlight! 🎉 2. goddamn, how did we survive seonghwa’s styling on that live stage? han-c, i know you know what i mean! 3. agree, that was def a clarinet! 4. i second your theory, that they were saying that making money doesn’t have to be something soul-sucking- they’re loving every minute of it! were those golden records that appeared in san’s gold pan? i thought so, and him checking one for purity or whatever with his teeth, that was like saying their music is for the real gold in it, those joyful moments, not for the awards and fame. san just popped that gold nugget in his mouth to savor it too— they’re eating up the golden HOURS, not the golden bank balance. 5. i’m loving the latin vibe they’ve been swimming around in!! 💃🏻 i love hearing y’all talk about the samples and the rhythms and the genre-bending. thank you for jumping on this one so quick!!

2024-06-08 19:27:08 +0000 UTCYou probably know but the egg and Hwa — Seonghwa is a Park, and the story of the entire Park line is that Park Hyeokgeose, the 1st Park, hatched from an egg. Also, the diary notes explain Work very, very well. They've been away from "real life" in World A a long time. Gotta pay those bills.

Because for me this album is suprising as a whole, it's suprising in its composition. The songs are quite different too but at the same time it makes sense. And there def were previews for Outlaw and Crazy form, you can find them on Ateez YT chanel

However, they got me at the K-Wave concert because they performed right before stray kids and the way all of their songs had me out of my seat moving is crazy. I only just watched the video yesterday because I was trying to clean up the house and I had a K-pop mix list on YouTube and the video came up and I was so entranced but also so very confused. HAN-C, YES! I WAS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHY THAT PART SOUNDED SO FAMILIAR TO ME. IT IS EENIE MEENIE! Oh my goodness, Seonghwa is gorgeous.
