[Tier 3] SKZ CODE - Ep. 27 & 28｜A Day at SKZ Academy

Time to learn things with SKZ! :D Including feelings. We're learning feelings.

When we saw that this episode takes place at a folk museum inside Lotte World, we initially thought the episode will revolve around a lot of skits, classic games, foods, reenactments, etc. but as SKZ Code always does, the show took an interesting turn every chance it got to keep us alert and surprised!

Lots of things that are difficult to explain due to it being heavily dependent on the level of knowledge you have about the culture and the language, but hope our explanations here and there were suffice to add enough info for improved viewing experience :D

사주 is such a fun concept and many Koreans still actively seek professionals both for fun and with some with serious intent and belief. And don't even get us started on Korean shamanism, which sounds and feels exactly like the word sounds and feels to non-Koreans, but seems weirdly grounded for Koreans if you hear it in Korean!

EDIT: we had some interesting questions here and there, so we decided to paste/modify our answer to the question regarding the games in case others are confused as well!

The base game that SKZ members are playing is Red light Green light, where the members must not move when the 'it' person (or let's just say tagger) turns around after finishing a certain phrase. (무궁화 꽃이 피었습니다 --> 무궁화 is the national flower of Korea, a type of hibiscus if you will, and the phrase translates to 'hibiscus has blossomed')

To make things complicated, they added a number of traditional games that they must do along the way before tapping the tagger on their back then proceeding to run back to the starting line without getting caught. The trick is to tap them before they finish the phrase and run as fast as possible. Ofc if you move and the tagger sees you, you are brought to the front, interlocking fingers with the tagger, in which case the rest of the players must 'cut' the link instead of tapping the tagger. If additional players are caught, they will be linked to the already caught player - SKZ deviated here, but 'usually' they only cut the link between the tagger and the first person caught, not the ones after. No rule stating as such, but that was how everyone played since half the fun is tagger noticing the cut and chasing after you.

The games that were added were...
1. Jegi, where you basically juggle the jegi (which is the thing they're kicking) as many times as possible - in this case, just once.
2. Ddakji, where you take the ddakji (the paper you see) and hit another one on the ground to try and flip it, in which case you win.
3. Tooho (or pitch-pot), where you throw a spear into the vase and try to get more in than your opponent - in this case, just one.
