Well, if there was one song from Immortal Songs playlist we thought wouldn't have much to add, it was this one (given the nature of Psy songs, and our knowledge of ATEEZ), and boy were we wrong. We probably had the MOST to talk about in this video, and we still had more to say after wrapping up our recording!

2024-05-12 19:57:27 +0000 UTCLast year's performance was filmed during Patriotic Month in Korea, so the whole audience are patriots and their partners. So theme for that episode is Patriotic Month. Regarding the Psy episode, ATEEZ came in first place. Jessi was also one of the performers. This episode is my favourite and I love how the song fits Yunho's personality so well.

This episode of Immortal Songs truly gave me a new appreciation for PSY, getting to see just how many genres he's actually covered over the years, and then he released "That That" with Suga, and I was hooked. That whole album PSY 9th is a masterpiece!!

He is very good at voice impersonations as well but in this case I wouldn't really call it an impersonation tbh he just can really sing any genre and im not exaggerating! ATEEZ in general have fantastic vocal technique but San especially is so good at changing it up vocally. Psy was soo so impressed with ATEEZ and basically said they're leading the current generation of KPOP and Jessi loved it too and basically fell in love with ATEEZ from this! 2024-05-12 01:33:07 +0000 UTCThis episode made me so proud of them knowing that PSY personally asked them to perform which just shows that he knows performance kings when he sees them! ๐ Here's what Seonghwa said that happened backstage: Seonghwa revealed that after their winning performance, PSY himself went looking for Hongjoong. He congratulated all the members, but when he finally found Hongjoong he said, โYou are truly something else.โ How cool is that!! And about the next performance of Nilili Mambo and Fantastic Baby...hold on to your knickers because The Real is also mixed into it so start thinking about how they fit that in there also!! ๐ (And can we add Imitation to a watch party list? ๐)

2024-05-11 23:02:28 +0000 UTCThis is one of my favorite episodes of immortal songs in general, its so fun...It was for Psy's 20th anniversary so it was BIG. In the interviews with the guests backstage they said that Psy actually personally picked the line up (which typically the 'host guest', doesnt do...but its Psy so...) and he called a lot of them up to ask if they would sing specific songs, saying things like "This song would really suit you". And the comments from Psy to Ateez after their performance were so amazing. He called them the next generation leaders in Kpop. It meant so much to them and when they won, a few of them actually teared up. (As did I) Ps. Jessi's performance is also amazing, she absolutely became my girl crush after I saw it

This was around the same time they were finishing up Kingdom: Legendary War and 4 of the members were in a drama called Imitation (Yunho had the 2nd male lead role) that they filmed at the same time they were promoting the Fireworks comeback and Kingdom. Their reference highlighting Yunho as an imitation of Psy was a nice added little laugh. Psy was a huge fan, and Jessi was so impressed. Both she and Sunmi did Showterview episodes with ATEEZ, and you should watch both if you get time. So funny.
