2024-04-14 09:53:52 +0000 UTCAnd this performance just shows how it cemented Ateez as the Kings of Covers. This was their very first appearance on Immortal Songs, and their very first win as well. Just some info about the episode: this episode aired August 29, 2020, so they were midway through the pandemic. As such they changed how the show was filmed because they couldn't have a live studio audience voting in house. Starting February 15, 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the votes were done by 20 special judges (mostly KBS employees). They scored the artist, but the score was not shown on screen and instead a light was used to indicate the winner. Since the end of the pandemic, they have gone back to the live studio audience voting, and Ateez was on the first episode where they brought the audience back (that is the Nillili Mambo/Fantastic Baby mashup episode). Although Mingi was in this episode, he went on hiatus not long after, and so Ateez's next several appearances are Mingi-less, just FYI. I'm just glad he's back now!! I'm really looking forward to watching you react to all of their Immortal Songs performances, they are just fabulous!!

They did a great job bringing that Ateez sound into it but still keeping elements of the original including the choreo! I think Ateez fits perfectly on this type of show where the can really flex their performance chops. I can.t wait for you to see the rest.

This episode aired before their Thanxx comeback, and so they gave a lil spoiler for the Thanxx choreo in this performance during the dance break after the first chorus. It’s the move where their arms are straight and they swing them vertically. I know they included tiny spoilers for the choreo for an upcoming comeback in at least one other Immortal Songs performance, I’ll be on the lookout as you continue to react to them 😁

Yes it's pretty hilarious and a tiny bit cringe honestly...I adore Ateez but I really can't with this song🤣🤣 I used to sing it in kindergarten...like it's huge in Italy, I don't think there's an italian child who doesn't know this song 😂. I was scrolling through the comments on the official video (and this was a long time ago so feel free to correct me anyone if I'm misremembering) and a couple of them compared it to seeing a creepy hard rock version of baby shark, because this is originally an Italian childrens song. All that aside, I'm so glad you reacted to this and plan to do the rest. I'm excited for your insight.
