I’ve always felt their music was unique to them and their style, but this felt “not very them” which is probably why you guys also mentioned that people said they’ve got a different style. Also!! Their live performances are amazing to watch, I totally agree. Perhaps check out the SMART live performance they did recently (https://youtu.be/CepCkb8epPY) Fair warning though: the video is supposedly controversial because of the age discourse (Eunchae is a minor at 17 and the dance is nsfw) and the song is also controversial because of their beats and pronunciation (afrobeats + African pronunciation of the word smarter) but still a good performance from them nonetheless!!

Also it makes me think of I.N doing the perfect night dance. But i love this sound. I love the hip hop inspiration. It is was got me to listen to Stray Kids and subsequently into kpop in general. On a completely separate topic Han-C looks great in turtlenecks. Yaaaassss yall better sing with the song 😂 its very vibey. A sinkhole? Interesting comparison.

2024-03-03 02:12:06 +0000 UTCI'm not an expert on this type of music, but the song it most reminded me of was Cookie by NewJeans, if only becuase they both have the title word drawn out in that sort of light, synth-y way as part of the hook/chorus. I also like seeing them keep up the religious/mythological imagery in their videos - there's an early frame in the mv where one member is lying in another's lap, aping a Madonna and child pose, where the member in the lap starts to weep something that looks distinctly olive oil, which is a reference to a statue of the Virgin Mary in Mexico that reportedly weeps olive oil. Throw in the vampire teeth and the veil of pearls and it's a compelling mix!
