Yall joked about the song being to each other, but Felix has literally said "I like you for you" and "I can't live without you" to Changbin. I love seeing them together. Their 2 Kids Show episode where they sang this song at the end was so cute. It's a compliment battle between the two of them every time they are with each other.

So often they will make a song that could sound romantic or it could be about friendship or family. Stray Kids rarely write exclusively romantic songs, even songs like Han's 'Chill' which is about a break up he said it could be romance but it could apply to friends or any type of relationship. They often try to make their songs deliberately inclusive. So this song is likely inspired by their feelings of friendship but also written so it could be used romantically too. Changbin and Felix have a very close relationship, and especially in the earlier years Felix was very expressive about it. Felix is extremely emotional as a person, you'll see it if you watch their 2Kids Room or 2Kids Show episodes and he does not hide his love. He says lines that sound like they come from an epic romance about what SKZ members mean to him. So this song feels very them, and their vibe. I'm excited for you to get to the interview style shows at some point and discover all these nuances. I think you will really love 2Kids Show for this because they apply the interview to how the wrote these songs (and it's also really good fun with excellent live performances).

Later you could watch the 2kids show videos and at the end the live sing some of the skz-records including this one :D if you're interested :D On another note, for the next song you might want to watch a lyrics video since it's not easy to tell apart the changbin and seungmin singing part, they did it really well, I just love that song :) Thank for the reaction guys!!!!! Water isn't wet and I cannot be convinced otherwise. I really wanna here a song with Lee Know and Seungmin. Just those 2. Also Changbin and Lee Know. And Lee Know and I.N. Lee Know and Felix. And Lee Know and Hyunjin. Do you see the pattern here? I want more Lee Know vocals OR EVEN LEE KNOW RAPPING!!

(And then he took off the mask.) That guy definitely has a signature sound but when he deviates he goes off.

2024-03-01 05:42:49 +0000 UTCIn Feb 2021 Hyunjin was put on hiatus by JYP because of the allegations that he had bullied someone years before when he was in middle school. JYP also banned him from competing with the rest of SKZ at Kingdom. "Because" was released on SKZ-RECORD a few weeks after that. I can totally see it being about Hyunjin, because I can only imagine how sad and upset he was during that time, and I'm sure Changbin and Felix wanted to support him.

2024-03-01 05:21:59 +0000 UTCAs you were wondering who the song was for, I'm commenting midway through to say that, IIRC, Felix and Changbin wrote this for Hyunjin! I'll see if I can dig up a source for that once I've finished the full video, but I'm pretty sure it's been mentioned somewhere. UPDATE: I would've sworn I'd seen a behind the scenes/2kr clip where this was discussed, but I can't find it, so either it's playing hard to get with my search engine or I've accidentally absorbed a piece of fan speculation as actual lore. Either way, though, in specific reference to Felix's English lyrics at the end (which D'Some was talking about at the end in terms of who the song was for), Felix has said in a 2kr that Hyunjin gives him another reason to live, and has also said backstage at a concert that he can't live without Changbin (which, to be fair, was after this song was released, but the sentiment hardly came from nowhere, is my point). As for the use of 'baby,' pretty much all of SKZ use baby/jagi to refer to each other, so in the event that I *have* confused a fan theory with established fact, I'm offering up these details as to why it is, at the very least, a plausible theory :D

I think because he had such a unique intro into Korea, the culture and the members. Plus, it's Changbin. He's also a deep thinker and can fully see him just talking to Felix like this.
