2024-02-15 15:35:31 +0000 UTCahh i'm so happy you're continuing getting into the rose! i don't even know what to recommend, everything is just so good. some of my personal favourites are RED and Childhood though. i'm also seeing them in concert soon when they're coming to norway in march, and i'm literally so exciting, i can't wait!!

They're my favorite band ever and also take part in the writing of their songs a lot of the time. If you guys are interested, for starters I would maybe recommend you to listen to their songs Aurora, Parting or Montage. They have really amazing vocals and also rap. Anyways, glad to have become a patron. It's a very fun journey, so keep it up! :)

But yes, definitely go in order and for fun side quests you can check out their old busking videos. I’m so glad you checked them out and you love them as much as we do. They absolutely deserve it! I have seen them live multiple times in their own concerts and in festivals and they put on an amazing show and sound phenomenal. They do all sing you are right and in their concerts they showcase the bassist, Jaehyeong, and the drummer, Hajoon's, vocals by letting them take lead on some of their songs. The main vocals, guitar, Woosung and Piano, Dojoon, have some of my favorite voices overall not just k-pop. As a black rose since debut I am here for all the content you want to provide for The Rose, but definitely more live performances.

And unfortunately, I think many of their MVs are no longer available for various reasons. Try Baby next (this is a repost of the original in 1080 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmyGAT2OPfM) and live from same KBS (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6I_kKWk8100). Then I.L.Y (reposted from vlive https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htqjh_nqj1Y) and because you want to know they sound the same live, check a fan video concert live version from 2019 with longer played intro and terrible crowd participation (heh) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOT66mQUdQo) OR an in-studio version without all the fans and with minimal intervention (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9t2Fd-UQkYg). That's two that should keep you going!

Every concert, they always have Jeff and Hajoon take lead vocals on one song, like they don't want us to forget that all four of our roses sing. Black Roses love it! I don't know how these guys aren't more popular, honestly. They are just so damn talented. They write their own stuff. They play their own instruments. They all sing. Dojoon, I'm pretty sure, plays like ALL of the instruments. I say I don't have a bias because I love all of them, but I also can't deny that hearing Dojoon's voice just...makes me happy. I just smile so much. I don't know why. Normally, I'd be all over Woosung's sexy vocals (and don't get me wrong -- I think his voice is one of the most special in the industry), but Dojoon...something about him singing just hits me in the feels.

I saw them live last fall, and it was one of the best, if not THE best live shows I've ever been to. Seriously, they are so, so good. I say they don't have a single bad song, so you can't go wrong with whatever you react to, but I would STRONGLY recommend ILYSB another live performance at Culture Warehouse that is...it is THE performance to listen to for Woosung's amazing voice. I say that, but I also want to say that as unique and beautiful as Woosung's vocals are, I believe it's the dual main vocals of Woosung and Dojoon that lend The Rose their truly special sound. Woosung's sexy rasp paired with Dojoon's clear, more classical tones is just...so, so good. I agree with the comment above that you should react to the entire Dual album. Every song is fantastic. Cosmo is my favorite off the album, but Wonder comes very, very close to unseating it, and I think Back to Me (which you've already done) is probably the most crowd engaging song they've ever done. But seriously...EVERY song is so good! Their recent tour was my dream track list. It had all of my old favorites: Sorry, She's in the Rain (I think this was their most popular song until the recent album release), Cure (this one almost moves me to tears whenever I hear it), Red (a HUGE favorite of mine!), Beauty & the Beast....I'm SO glad I saw them this tour, for the chance to hear these songs live. I'm not sure what set lists they'll have in the future as they come out with more albums. Ultimately, you just can't ever go wrong with The Rose. Fun fact: when they released Sorry, pretty much everyone in the industry told them it wasn't the right sound. It didn't meet the k-pop sound of the time -- not that they are k-pop, but it just wasn't the "popular sound"; it was too slow; too sad, and so on. And they said "too bad, this is our sound". And they've stuck with that, and it's finally really paying off for them as they gain more and more fans. I'm sad that the next time I see them live the tickets will probably cost me a lot more (curse you, Ticketmaster, and your stranglehold on the market), but super happy for them because they deserve all of the success and more.

Red is another good song with an MV and the live at Culture Warehouse. Same with She's in the Rain if you'd live to do the MV and a live version. Either way you do it, I'm here for it!

I'd say listen to Alive, then Beauty and the Beast, then She's in the Rain (that one doesn't have an official MV, cause the official one the film director had used pictures of an idol who had died without permission, and they took it down out of respect for the family after his passing. Thanks Naomi for the correction!). Also Cure is incredible, very reminiscent of U2. A little info on them, Woosung (english name Sammy, korean-american) and Dojoon (english name Leo) are the main vocals, with Hajoon (english name Dylan) and Jaehyoung (english name Jeff) also singing, but mostly backup vocals except for a few songs. Woosung also plays guitar, Dojoon is keyboard and acoustic guitar, Haroon is drummer and occasionally raps, Jaehyoung is bassist.
