Thank you for the extra translation info on this song! This song really makes me emotional. Again I wish I was better at Korean - I just know I'm missing out on so much. One day. I think your gonna enjoy Chans song! Then I GOT IT....Oooooooooo your not ready for that.

The emotions in this song are so well relayed to the audience.

One of the songs that truly, truly saved my life. Can’t help but cry every time I hear it, no matter how many times I’ve heard it.

"Streetlight" is one of those SKZ songs that always make me cry when i hear it. Even though i don't understand the lyrics while listening the pure, raw emotion of his rap/singing is enough to feel the meaning. There's another of those "cry-songs" on the b side of this album.

Klaramell

The "music makes one" performance with Tiger Jk and Jung Jaeil is def worth checking out!

I think most people have shared the really important parts about this song so what I’ll just add is that, for whatever reason, during the time this was released in early 2020 none of the solo SKZ records or players came captioned with English so it wasn’t really specific to this one. Not sure why that was tbh but Close by Han also wasn’t subbed. I don’t think they started adding them until 2021. 🤔

Also one of my fave Chan's Room!

Thank you so much for this reaction! It’s such a tight song, no wonder you couldn’t say anything and just pay attention. That’s the strength of the song. Actually, being not able to understand Korean I never got the lyrics and never thought about the lyrics, but just let the music and tone speak for itself. Interestingly, I got the same message as I understand from you now is in the lyrics. Though I realise now how much I missed out on because Chanbin is such a strong and deep lyricist. I am also so very much amazed how different the 3 Racha members write lyrics! This way they so much broaden their spectrum, without competitiveness or envy between them, just getting better and better with and by each other. Chanbin uses a lot of „pictures“ and wordplays and double meaning (I often wonder if the third / fourth meaning is then added by Bang Chan or Han by free association…), which is so beautiful.

Changbin released "Streetlight" in May, 2020. The month of May is Mental Health Awareness Month - at least, it is in the U.S.. Not sure about other countries. So his chosen release date was deliberate, especially since some of the imagery in the song is connected to the Blue Tree Project, which other commenters have mentioned. In this article, Changbin talks about his song, "Streetlight." https://www.soompi.com/article/1400731wpp/watch-stray-kids-changbin-drops-emotional-self-composed-track-featuring-bang-chan

When I tell you I sped on the way home when I saw the notification! This song is amazing and hits home whenever I truly listen to it. Ahhh! The emotion in Changbin's voice gets me. I love this song. All Skz songs are my favorites but this one... this one is in the "Special" category (along with a few others) that has made me cry and means the world to me. I always tend to write this before watching - so I can't wait to see what you two think!! :D Edit: There are some comments in the description of Streetlight (and maybe some of the other Bside tracks) that have, in this case Changbin's, thoughts on the song. I thought I would mention that for something to look for. :)

One of my favorite clips from Chan's Room (from when he did vlives), was Changbin, Han and Bang Chan listening to songs (one was Streetlight and another is the next song you'll be reacting to on this B Side - I Hate to Admit). Han's reaction to Streetlight is awe-filled. He gave an amazing compliment to Changbin. Here's the clip if you want to watch it. It's heartwarming. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQP9JJv_Ww0

Streetlight is one of my all time favorite songs. It's so heavy yet comforting and truly shows Changbin's hidden vulnerable side. He's such a beautiful, caring person who always tries to carry the weight of others troubles on his shoulders. It's one of the plethora of reasons he's my ult bias of all ults 🥰.

This song. This song has my heart. It is so vulnerable and deep and just. Changbin is absolutely amazing. And the fact that he was strong enough to release this. Stunning. Thank you. Learning that crack/weakness double meaning makes it even more amazing. Heavy but uplifting. You gave it the reaction it deserves. You paid attention to the lyrics and took in the message. I love that. 🫰🏾

So if I'm not mistaken the plue paint on the tree represents the Blue Tree Project which is a mental health awareness project started in Australia. From their website: "Blue Tree Project has flourished into a charity helping change the way we talk about mental health after the tragic loss of Jayden Whyte to suicide in 2018." You can learn more about it here: https://bluetreeproject.com.au/

I hear this and think of 3Racha at the 2022 MAMA awards. He said, "Our music will continue to save your life. I promise". It's true. Their music helps me with my depression and anxiety, too. I'm really happy that they have each other.

Georgianna

This song is extremely meaningful to STAYS not only for its message but because it allowed us to see Changbin in a different light, He did a beautiful job of explaining the song himself which I will link below. It also incorporated The Blue Tree Project, and Australian Organization which conducts this special project that paints dead trees blue to spread mental health awareness. https://www.tiktok.com/@marascb/video/7233727072449924358
