This might be an out of pocket comparison, but the use of spooky sounds and storytelling in this song made me think of Sadie Killer and the Suspects from Steven Universe, which is a horror-themed band in the show. Specifically, there's two songs that made me think of it: the Working Dead and one that's also called Ghost. 2023-12-29 09:02:41 +0000 UTCI listen to this song a lot, but I never picked up on the story telling aspect because I've never looked at the lyrics translation (I have reasons). Having that input from you though makes me realize the rap bits aren't as out of place and awkward as they felt before I knew they were telling a story (I do love rap, but my only complaint ever about xh is that occasionally the rap verses seem kind of shoehorned in). Also, Han-C's comment about the ragtime feel - YES! I'm not sure it was actually an influence, but so many of these kids' songs do seem influenced by other eras (reason 43 why I adore them on an ever-growing list). There's a song on the next album that even reminds me a little of Cab Calloway if you squint (Minnie the Moocher). As always, I look forward to your reactions, thank you for this!

2023-12-28 07:47:39 +0000 UTCso excited for you guys to get to deadlock after x-mas!! probably my favorite album from them if I'm being honest. freakin' bad is so good and has fun wordplay (which was hilarious to see bang chan react to when it came out) and i think its their first album where a b-side (good enough) has more streams than the title track. such a good album!!
