I misheard the lyrics in this the first time I listened, and now I can't unhear it even with knowing they're not as switched up as I initially thought... Who is gonna play? Who is gonna pay? Who has got my back? Who is comin' back? It all fit so well for me mentally, but went fwoosh out the window once I read the actual lyrics, heh. Oh well! I'm sure I'll continue to mishear it while trying to sing it correctly! Musically, it hits me in a way I love. Lyrically, my brain runs in 3 different directions with it, which makes me smile. I also enjoy it when I can chase lore aspects while also getting a full-on dive into real-world kind of vibe. To me, this definitely feels connected to Outlaw but in the way of it pairing in my brain with Django, which felt like it was set in a casino bar with them just kind of chilling and enjoying a drink (one final round) before walking out to take care of business. Now, we have the business started and they're steady just tossing back drinks while talking each other up (they're ready to "play" and have each other's backs) before getting out there to kick more ass. The fact that this comes directly before Crazy Form fits for me because they're definitely "a little unhinged" in that one. There will definitely be obvious crossover-type feelings between songs on various albums within a series, though, just by virtue of them being purposefully connected. You'll definitely feel more of a "story-style movement" through the music (I think, just based on my own experience with the albums) once you're at the point where you're listening to Movement, Outlaw, and then Will all in order. One day soon I'm going to actually have to read the diary for this one, because I don't feel confident in making any direct comments on how things hit me until I do that... I've just put everything on hold for like 2 weeks and am now finally catching up.

So far it's been good as we tried to focus on the way it's set up and pay attention to the tracks individually ! :D Their songs are def 'tough' though - for sure - in the sense you described!

With Emergency and We Know, they felt to me kind of like they belonged more on the previous album. With some groups (ateez, xh, onlyoneof) I tend to listen to whole albums in one go, while with other groups (skz's later stuff, monsta x) I can just hit shuffle and go. This album though - I dunno man. It breaks into a few parts for me. It's not bad, it's just not what I'm used to from kq. So you pointing out the introductory aspects of We Know, and pulling out some of the musical threads on Emergency, makes me go "oh yeah, ok ok ok, I kinda see that." I still want to put this song somewhere else on the album though. Maybe swap the first two? No...I'm stumped. Listening to it with you, isolated from the rest of the album, makes me realize how much I like it on its own, but I just want to move it! Maybe I'm nuts, idk. Anyway, as always, thank you!
