[Tier 3] SKZ Survival Show Ep. 10

This episode sucked. F you Mnet, the producers, JYP, and everyone involved who puppeteered SKZ to make a 'compelling' show and drove them through a brick wall several times >:(

Couple notes BEFORE you watch our reaction

1 . at 19:45, we pause the video to talk about how the vocals seem too recorded and if so JYP is a b#tch for being a hypocrite blah blah - we fast forwarded that part because we DO figure things out a bit down the road that most likely they just lowered the live volume and only kept the recorded voices for the audiences at home, and that JYP and everyone else would've heard their live vocal indeed. So for that reason, you may skip our chitchat there as we state in the video - and it's actually SKIP TO 23:10, cuz we keep talking about it wrongly till then.

2. We barely manage to pay attention to anything BUT SKZ performing in this episode because we're so done with the stupidity, but we were fairly certain no STAY would be super super focused on what JYP and MC are saying in this episode, by this point of the series.

Ah this was so frustrating for us XD

Hope you enjoyed the adventure, apologies if we seem too distracted and angry - as you know, we WILL be back with a more fun stuff now that this is over, so hey, let's look forward to that! :D

I can see the reasoning behind everything this programme did, except JYP’s final speech, which was so unnecessary. He actually compared Felix and Lee Know to puppies messing up on pee pads. And he thinks that’s a professional thing to say? Can you imagine how Felix and LK felt hearing themselves described in those terms? Either the whole thing was a stunt and they were always going to bring Felix and LK back, or JYP was being forced to, and this was his chance to be really nasty about it.

Toasted Toad

I wonder if JYP would bring Minho and Felix back if they didn’t continue practicing as hard. *Edit* - I love how Changbin, Seungmin, and Minho continues to throw shade at JYP even now. 😂 I don’t blame them.

Coffee Powered

I loved this reaction!!! It is just how I felt when I first watched the show, which should be rebranded from survival show to JYP Entertainment fucks with the heads of young Kids for 'entertainment' .... it is a good show to showcase the early bonds the members have with each other (and their shared emotional damage trauma) and I loved seeing how the pre-debut tracks were concieved .... but it was an absolute joke and obviously planned :( out in adavance (without themembers knowledge). I was crying laughing towards the end at your honest reactions, just waiting to see what you would say about JYP comparing SKZ to dogs ... that has stuck with me the most from this episode ... absolute jaw drop moment (in disgust). I remember JYP also eliminated Momo from Twice during Sixteen, then just added her back into the group in the finally ... I mean WTF!

EL Knox

right?! I'd like to see JYP move to a completely new country and learn a language enough to not only speak decently but RAP in just 7-8 months? Give the kid a break!! His progress was astonishing, and he would hve been (is) so good in just a few more months! To cut him for that was abusive and short sighted.

Sam w

It bothers me so much that the audience vote wasn't 100%

amyren

I'm joining this discussion super late but 100% agreed. The audacity he had during this whole show, especially this episode, just baffles me. He proudly put a bunch of young kids through psychological turmoil just to what? publicly humiliate them to promote his new boyband? What gets me even more is that he had NO hand in creating them. He didn't pick the members, he didn't pick the leader, he didn't pick the team name, he doesn't even participate in the production of any of their songs but acts like he's this benevolent god "allowing" them to be what they already were without his input after putting them through this torture. To this day, 7 years later, we can still see how it has affected Stray Kids and caused what seems like actual trauma. ugh idk. in conclusion, f jyp and his ugly hair.

lixiu

Pretty sure this show is the reason why Seungmin throws shade at JYP at every opportunity. They were all emotionally manipulated and while the others may have moved on, his wonderful petty ass still holds a grudge.

Seki

You don't have to apologise, I reacted the same way....how can someone make such a horrible comparison and at the same time saying how much worse the band is with them...

i'm so glad i didn't watch this alone haha. i also appreciate seeing their journey from pre-debut, and knowing where they came from, but yeah. i knew enough about this show to know it was fucked up, but it feels even worse to watch it. it was all just for show! what they did to stray kids was messed up. but i'm glad you were just as frustrated as us, and that we could be frustrated together. i hated this episode, but i'm glad that you talked us through it! made it a bit less unbearable

Marika

Guuys, it was an honest reaction, it was so frustating to watch this last episode and know how much they suffered when Lino and Lix was eliminated, we all saw how much they cried, how much affected the dance coreografy, the lines and all their dynamics.. Perfect to bring them back, all of them makes SKZ (I love so much Lino and Lix), but this sh*t excuse was too much, this "live audience voting" oh men... I'll stop here, your Patreon coments do not deserve a lot of curse words for JPY hahaha

Lari

Lmao I love your energy. Yeah f this show. I like it cause I got to know the guys really well, but all the emotional turmoil was way excessive

Pushnitsya

It still amazes me that Felix had studied Korean for less than a year at the time of the show. He had some basics down (He said he basically only new how to count in Korean) but to my understanding he didn't speak Korean before joining JYP in feb 2017.

Jan 잔

Idol Room made JYP hold Felix’s hands and apologize on TV. It is at 20:55 https://strayksubs.com/180821-idol-room-%ec%95%84%ec%9d%b4%eb%8f%8c%eb%a3%b8-episode-16-full-stray-kids/

Sara B

Okay I need merch that says “No Felix, No Maniac. No Lee Know, No Beijing Duck.” 🤣 Also, if I remember correctly, Lee Know said at some point that they didn’t know the podium was going to be there at the end so when the put it up and had them get on it they were really thrown. That for sure was very manipulative.

Lauren_001

if he DOES get his hair done at a salon, the public deserves to know which one so everyone can avoid it.

Michele Wang

I always feel like the energy with the 7 member team is completely different as in they seemed not to be having as much fun with the performance and are just really serious which is why they appear more unified but still the energy is just off because of it. With the 9-member team, the atmosphere and energy are different. They are having more fun with the performance and it makes it more enjoyable. All the performances were great but they were totally different also.

morgana Connor-bennett

I feel like someone should clip some of JYP’s critiques from this show and edit them into his recent performance. You know the one. And also his face on the security guard in Megaverse.

Kacey Miller

This is my second time watching it and I’m reminded of how much I actually hate this and relate to changbin every time he sees jyp. Everything they went through was so messed up but I’m glad they all have each other and are as strong as ever. Thank you for the genuine reaction to this whole series. I’m glad I’m not the only one ready to square up with jyp in the parking lot 😂😂😂 also I saw a video of jyp performing at some kind of reward show and it was so bad I literally died laughing and cringing the whole time because of the audiences faces and reactions to the whole performance and his outfit change 😂😂

Daisy Prescott

This last episode is EASILY the worst episode solely because of what you guys talked about. Like you are 100% right that all this show really did was just traumatize the members and fans. Like first it’s an emotional rollercoaster but then you find out it’s all pointless. And then you got JYP comparing the kids to puppies peeing and misbehaving and you’re just like you are the dumbest person alive. Like there are definitely some fun amazing moments in this show but yea with the eliminations plus the way it ended most Stays just don’t wanna go through it after the first time cause it’s such bullshit. But this was also the start where you see not just fans hating on JYP but also the guys start to make fun of or dislike JYP. Like the stray kids representative of the JYP Hate Club is easily Changbin. However all of them have some sort of grudge or annoyance with him. Chan specifically went against JYP saying to lower the key of Hellevator by making District 9 higher than Hellevator. Seungmin has said JYP is his sleep paralysis demon and Lee Know has made a few jokes about JYP eliminating him. All of the kids make fun of him by singing or dancing to songs but in as they like to cal it JYP Style which is incredibly funny. They’ve done case 143 in JYP Style and then sometimes when they would do the choreo to Hype Boy by New Jeans they would do the version of it that JYP did to mock him which is hilarious. Not to mention during Kingdom during their God’s ddu du ddu du performance when chan is breaking the forth wall and talking to the audience there’s a sign saying JYP 바보 that chan quickly pushes down like it’s not supposed to be there. Like we could say JYP has created amazing groups in the past and even now in the present but we’re never gonna let go of what happened in this series. And now SKZ especially Chan is essentially indispensable from the company because of how much money they bring in and how much Chan produces and arranges not just for Stray Kids but also other groups and artists. Like if JYPE were to lose Skz, from a music business standpoint, their stocks and investments and stuff would take a HUGE hit. Plus you’d be losing the 3rd highest KOMCA artist (the youngest idol to even make the top 10) and 2 other KOMCA artist in the top 15 (Han being the youngest Full Member of KOMCA). Not to mention that SKZ broke the record of most pre-orders of an album for 5-star. Like they’ve made it so far since this show all in spite of stinky JYP

김수미

Have to agree. At the end of the day then, and especially now, JYP is not the sole decision-making god of JYPE. He may have been the one at the table, the face of it all, but he was not the only one contributing to any decision. And he does at least have compassion for the groups in his care (I think anyway, it looks that way in outside interviews and stuff). He's kind with them and they can joke around with him. And while we all hated the elimination stuff, his criticisms were valid issues and constructive not bashing in nature (He still went about it the wrong way imho, but it's been done and over with so...). I think at the center of it he's a shrewd businessman who saw a cross-section between drumming up publicity and sneaking in more intense training to the ones who needed it and he took it, but even now he's not some evil horrible monster. Awkward sure, but he's an artist from a different gen. He's not gonna hit super popular with the young'uns like PSY can, especially with this hanging over his head that some toxic stays can't let go of as an end-all-be-all of his character. Mnet however can get fucked. They've been on the back and front ends of so much shady business, fans and artists from all over have problems with them.

Emma

I loved your reactions because they were real. AND they were so similar to mine. I loved a glimpse into being a trainee and how they debuted but this was also emotional torture for the sake of entertainment.

DM Wilson

Best and most relatable reaction to the survival show I have ever seen. Along with my sister who I made watch this when she first got into SKZ, and she cried, yelled and cursed at the TV like I've never seen before.

Kiki Meowzilla

I have officially made it through my second time and last time ever watching this show. It was a pleasure to watch it with you - I am just as frustrated from this show as everyone else. Lots to say but I feel that everyone else has mostly said what I'm thinking as well. Also side note - Chan has always said they will always sing live unless they absolutely cant - and they are the worst at lip-syncing - probably because they actually WANT to sing. Maybe that's exactly why it looks how you think it does - who really knows what happened but I do agree it seemed off - maybe they had the back track drown out the live vocals so they could focus on the performance.

Nova

nowadays Changbin tone of voice sounds different use to be hella dark raspy but now its sort of a lighter tone maybe it was intentional

Ron Jackson Jr

This right here is the real truth, jokes aside. 100% agree, though even with this kind of insider knowledge we have between the two of us, that also sometimes makes us flip things again and say, 'but then again, we REALLY don't know what else is REALLY going on behind the scene'. So it's best to watch it, feel it for what it is, let things be what things are - entertainment - and take what we like about it and leave things we hate as a random pebble on the street! But MNET tho? Fuck them.

Handsome Sausages

During School Life, where you wondered if you had seen that part before (Minho singing), you did :D In the busking mission, it was Changbin doing that part and his singing made you both go: oh! In the beginning I had to giggle as you pointed out JYP said Stray Kiss instead of Kids. There's an interview/variety content bit where the boys are supposed to sing a song that has the word given in it. They were given the word: Kiss. And Changbin belts out (in Miroh) "Stray Kiss HOO!" Made them all laugh :) Edited to add: I really did enjoy all the interactions between the members throughout the show. I also enjoyed you both cursing at JYP, so I had entertainment in spades. I am glad, that even if you hated the show, that you still saw it. I think it really helps to see them like this early on and where they came from.

Selande

no matter his reasoning I like to think that THAT FKKN SHOW is the reason he lets them do everything including deny songs that he wrote for them, JYP is a man that is %100 EGO driven (no matter what he instills into the younger guys) So for him to just stand back and watch, not to mention I.N and changbin, and seungmiN RELENTLESSLY coming for his neck in shows. I like to imagine JYP just laughing it off while hiding the SHAME. lol

♡ Bludreamgirl ♡

The only good that came out of this for me besides Stray Kids is that I believe this journey bonded them more deeply. They value each other more because of the show. I heard somewhere that JYP intentionally wanted the audience to root for SKZ even if he had to be the bad guy. He might not be a bad guy and probably does care about his artists, to an extent, but it doesn't justify just putting these kids through that level of emotional torture either. So I guess I have mixed feelings on the matter.

DM Wilson

While I totally get the feelings we feel towards JYP because of this show and his actions in this show, I recently watched JYP at Bam’s House (a show hosted by GOT7’s BamBam) and it changed my perspective of how I felt about JYP in general. I suppose in the entertainment industry, there are many things that are purposefully edited out and taken out of context to create drama. Watching JYP’s sincerity in talking about GOT7’s potential being unseen until today despite the fact that they have parted ways with the company made me feel very emotional in realising how much he cared for the success of the artists, whether or not they were “making him money”. While I don’t condone his actions in the SKZ Survival Show, especially with the trauma SKZ was put through, and also there are many other things that he does/says that I don’t agree with, I feel that we still need to take things that we see with a grain of salt. He is human and his opinions can be things we don’t agree with but he’s not “evil” and “out to get the artists” as much as he is painted to be. But MNET tho?? Fuck them. That I can say without a doubt they’re an evil/greedy company that doesn’t respect any of the artists from the industry.

kerolina

I forgot how much of this episode that my brain tried to erase from my memory😂 thank you for sharing your reactions with us! I remember when I first watched it, and I wondered if others also thought it was unnecessarily cruel, and to see and hear how upset y’all got too was oddly therapeutic for me Welcome to the Hating-JYP-For-The-Emotional-Trauma Train! 🚂

Ariana Pinedo

On Loud he talked a LOT about how SKZ’s music is ultimately decided by 3racha, obviously we know the company is involved with the final releases (rip “my people”) but yeah… I wanted to recommend the video where the hosts of the show make Felix face JYP and ask him why he eliminated him 😂 but tbh I’d have to track down a shortened version so they didn’t have to watch the whole episode and I don’t want to lol

rlm66

I do agree, that's a good watch!

Tristana Keauna

ngl, I didn't watch this episode. I saw it once, and can't ever watch it again. The only things (as I recall) that is wonderful about this episode is obviously the performances with NINE MEMBERS and watching JYP get his arse handed to him in real time. Dumb mo%$!^!&$@&$@ Now you both are truly 'one of us'. It's a right of passage... a bit like hazing, but with rainbows and sunshine Felix at the end. Plus an eternity of knowing that when Changbin gives JYP -that look- this entire series is why. You said it best to JYP. "Shut Up!"

Tristana Keauna

Totally understand all the anger and frustration 😂 i’ve watched the show a few different times now and it gets me madder every time but the efforts skz have put into debuting are always something that I like to come back and witness knowing how far they’ve come today. I commented this on 2 of the past skz show episode reactions but I really hope you guys check out the Stray Kids x JYP interview as it really shed some light on the forming of skz and other stuff that I think you’d find interesting or at least funny. Congrats on finishing this grueling show 😀

Caz_3

thank you for saying this, saved me from typing it :)

Purr-Kim

Well, Han-C and D-some, now that you're done reacting to this show, I will go watch your reactions. 😅 I'm sorry ... but I am still smarting over when I watched it all in July and I couldn't stand not to watch this all the way through if I needed to... Call me crazy, but I NEED to watch this with some other Stays so I don't feel so alone at 3am, bawling my eyes out when Minho and Felix get eliminated. 😭😥 I'm STILL not over it!! But I need some sympathizers and it seems like you guys reached the same conclusion I did.. so... here I go.. 😅 See you in the morning for some healing time during Kingdom Week!! :)

Estelle S

This. All of this... only, as a person with a business degree and some experience, I could see why JYP would be wanting to pull a stunt like this to have the fans that much more devoted to Stray Kids and he didn't mind becoming the "bad" guy. Maybe he just didn't foresee how much he may/did hurt SKZ and how much Stays would hold it against him. He is also a businessman and may have been taking a gamble on this "new kind" of group. THAT BEING SAID: I have trouble defending him sometimes... I have respect for him, of a sort, but if I would ever get the chance, I'd really want to pick his brain as to WHY he thought playing with these boys' (at the time! They were all in High school or barely out of it!!) lives and emotions and confidence was a smart thing to do. ugh....

Estelle S

Yeah, being pissed off is basically a Stay right of passage. It's frustrating as hell to watch all this back from the future seeing how manipulative it is. The emotional damage, the trauma, even if it was just a PR stunt did it have to be that?? And Chan... "Hey want to debut after fucking ages? Build yourself a group and we'll see if it works out. But also I have god ability to pluck members in and out at a whim so don't get too attached." The way Chan blamed himself for their eliminations like he should have done something better... unforgivable. I know JYP has said in interviews how much he likes Chan and trusts him, but then what the hell was all this, business??? Ridiculous. Him crying after Felix's a couple of episodes back, like it was somehow a failing on his part they wouldn't be able to debut together, Minho's too, to just have JYP pull this out of nowhere. I can't imagine the pressure of getting a second chance like that and like "I know you picked 9 but the 7 are more professional, you get one final chance to prove me wrong" when he was probably always gonna go for the 9 anyway. The callous business side of me understands why, but the rest of me feels it was immoral to do to someone you trust or even have passing respect for. And fans hold grudges, so many stays and bad stays blame just about everything on JYP now regardless of whether he could have had any impact on stuff. Things that are more company decisions it's always "f*ck JYP" in the comments. Don't think he saw that consequence of playing with the kids like that. He took something that Channie was asked (offered) to put his everything into, picked it apart, and put it back together irregardless of the damage it could have done. I don't hate JYP as a person, but I don't very much like him. Shrewd businessman at best, manipulative power-hungry ego-maniac bastard who couldn't accept Chan built a better group than he could at worst. But oh well, we got our OT9 to all debut together anyway, so bygones right... but not really. Forgive and never forget. Elephant memory, and we hold grudges.

Emma

It is that same show. Those hosts were too much to Changbin.

redvelvetnerd

That clip is funny but I hate those hosts so much too its hard to watch. I think hats the same episode they bully Changbin.

Emma

I was gonna suggest that one too, it at least shows some more of the relationship between skz and jyp, because compared to other kpop groups they do get an almost inordinate amount of control over the aspects of their own stuff/music.

Emma

I definitely share the frustration. I am not against the idea of eliminations in debut-shows. I think in shows where a team still needs to be made, it makes sense. However as you guys mentioned, they were a team from the beginning. The reasons why they got eliminated is so dumb as well. Like yes Minho was lacking. He had a shorter training period, I highly doubt there's a lot of idols that end up debuting after a month of training.. Most train for at least 6m to a year I think?! And he showed he improved by going on. It would've made more sense to let them train based on feedback and watch them grow that way. Felix being eliminated with the main reason (that was givin in the show at least) being his Korean.. It really is just such a 'I need to find something I can blame for this elimination'. I think the idea of a liveshow was fine, as it is interesting to see them perform in a more formal setting before they get to debut. However, until you guys pointed it out, I didn't pay much attention to it. But the whole idea of it being 7 vs 9 really didn't make sense. If they had made it so people could vote for the members they wanted (up to 9 votes), and THEN JYP made a decision with those results in mind... maybe that would've been better. Like you said, people watching would have been fans and most of the time fans want everyone.. Especially with a team like this.. But the way Felix and Minho were put on a literal pedestal, waiting to hear if they were going to debut or not.. It really didn't sit right... After I first watched this show last year, I was angry and frustrated. As time went by I started to "justify" a lot more, thinking there was probably a lot of Behind the scenes decisions made that we didn't get to know about as viewers.. But now watching it again.. I am convinced it was all just done for that "show" and "shock" factor.. I honestly don't want to know how much it may have damaged both the eliminated members as the rest of their team.. Yes we know now that they have all come out of this stronger and better.. But I really don't think this negative energy was necessary.. In the beginning D-Some mentioned he appreciated this show for getting to know Minho's personality more. And I FULLY agree. This made me fall in love with how caring and at the same time uplifting and mood-making he is. I hope you guys start SKZ code or something similar soon, and get to enjoy the fun they have, I promise the vibes on that are all good and fun and you will get to know the members' quirks etc. even more <3

SaarCookie

First, D'Some made me choke on my coffee a few times. I completely agree with your sentiment. It seemed particularly cruel to single out Lee Know and Felix. Second, explain why stylists dress idols in wool and sweaters to perform. Finally, I really felt like Beware was a subtle threat to JYP. Beware of how we will react, if you don't return our members. 😁 Seungmin's mocking of JYP is relentless and I'm here for it. I have always loved Lee Know's sarcastic sense of humor. Also, his dance ability is a necessary part of SKZ. I would love to see a reunion dance performance with Bada Lee and Vata. You aren't an official Stay until you have screamed at JYP. 🤬

Georgianna

omg, I couldn't have ever expected a more perfect reaction to this gaslighting madness that JYP and Mnet producers put them through. THAT'S what I meant when I said that it is insane what they went through, because of Mnet and JYP, I hate them both but I could never see them the same after watching this, so much more love and respect for not just walking out on all of that nonsense. Im happy you didn't edit out the angry commentary because it was completely appropriate! I loved going through this psychological warfare all over with you! lol ♡

♡ Bludreamgirl ♡

So as someone who is already an emotional person this show was hell for me. I literally cried during EVERY EPISODE. whether it was happy tears or sad tears. I am D'some in this situation. This show REALLY gave me an appreciation for Lee Know which later turned into unconditional love and support. This show was a rollercoaster for sure. But i think it is definitely vital in learning who the boys are. Yea i didn't understand the point of showing the halfway point of the votes but also i want to know who the 4% were that voted 7. But D'some its not just Korean shows that drag out results TRUST ME. it's all voting shows. And as an anxious person I hate it. Idk what it is about when Changbinnie growls but i love it SO MUCH. lol BEIJING DUCK LEE KNOW 🤣😂 but yea the voting thing was super dumb. I loved D'some saying but also very dumb after Han said Jyp is very smart. Because people can indeed be both at the same time. And he has definitely shown that he is one of those people. But Stray Kids were the only KPop band that i was into at this point so getting to see Jun K perform was so cool and interesting to me. The negative conversation is really nothing new. Im pretty sure all of stay felt that way as well. Guys when he started talking about dogs i was SO CONFUSED! Like what, why are we talking about dogs now. But then i understood what he was saying. But also NO! DON'T EDIT OUT ANY OF YOUR REACTION. I get that you think it was a waste of time but honestly its always validating to see even people in production react in almost the same way regular STAYs reacted. 😹😂🤣😂😹 JYP pabo for sure.

Kwestleo

Your reaction to this ending is super relatable and made me like you both even more because I totally agree with you and also the message to save our emotions and energy was very sweet. So I am glad you uploaded this. I also started laughing so hard when JYP started his dog pissing speech, because I had blocked that out of my memory and it is SO BAD! OMG! For real, love you guys and thanks for suffering through this with us. We are all trauma bonded now. At least you can start watching different, more fun SKZ content. I am including a link to a video they did on the recording process for 5-star, it is a great look at how good 3RACHA are in the studio with the members. I just love watching them work so well together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9odkgNeDJm4&t=196s

lillie450

The dog metaphor, to this day, is the cringiest/weirdest thing I've ever heard....

your name here

Happy to get through this with you guys. Personally I love rewatching this show even though it breaks my heart because it’s a reminder of how much they went through and I fall in love with them all over again. There is actually an interview (does include JYP) where Chan explains how he picked the members which is cool to hear and Minho gets to kind of call JYP out and it’s hilarious. I’ll link it here if you want to check it out https://youtu.be/_Zv_K-v8uTI?si=8cAhnowmBhuO0m_B

rlm66

Your anger and annoyance is completely valid! If you ever want to heal from this experience: the video "it's Lee Know vs. JYP (99% wAe gEroUnJi mOllA)" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Uc7imyn8YQ&ab_channel=mystay) is perfect for that. Warning: In the bonus it does include spoilers for the songs Levanter and Neverending Story, so I don't know if you want to watch it fully. Can also recommend watching one of the performances of SKZ covering 2PM's Again and Again (more like a remastered version) after that compilation!

Sapientia

I love how you started this video trying to give JYP the benefit of the doubt but by the end it was pure hate lol. Yes, having pressure and stress can kind of motivate you and help you improve but the amount of pressure they were put under was just ridiculous. I know they will probably never be able to give us their real thoughts looking back to this, but I would love to hear how they think about all of this now that they are older. I know thinking back to things that happened in my late teens/ early twenties I have such a different perspective now. People who I was so thankful to for helping me out of situations back then, I look back and realize I would have never needed help without them putting me in that situation in the first place.

Jenni Heath

It was fun to watch this with you ❣️It'd be fun to see you react to their most recent recording sessions‚ maybe their 5-star one since you've already heard the album. There's two parts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_Nt-jnXGfQ&ab_channel=StrayKids and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9odkgNeDJm4&ab_channel=StrayKids

AdaK

rewatching this with yall was a Pain like i forgot how much i absolutely hated how they did this and it reignited that anger but now the satisfaction of how skz have proved him wrong and turned the tables on him hits harder (did u know jyp admitted himself that he was afraid and nervous when he gave skz a song once) LOL. your pain and frustration is so valid 🫠 my timeline when this aired lived was crazy HAHAHA

hessa

You fully spoke from my heart. When I watched it (and I was only capable of enduring this once) my reactions were exactly the same. I was only wondering what was going through Bang Chans head while all this pointless drama. He probably was just silently praying to get through this and blurring his hearing…

Ideosycrat

Don't worry, your frustrations match all of our frustrations. This episode was the worst.

Star Dust

The fact they eliminated only members from the dance line, made it less believable that they were ever going to actually stick with the eliminations tbh, I think they just wanted their bond with the people watching to be stronger and to have a "better show" with the tension.. honestly, I just find it scummy. They barely got any praise throughout the whole thing, there's no way your confidence would not take a hit after going through an experience like this. So, I agree, F msnake and F JYP tbh.

Batty

Ooh i agree with you, and i fkin hate jyp, call me immature if you want, but he could have managed his words different, the kids and chan especially are so loyal to the company tho, i try to concentrate in skz, their friendship and their music, they are much stronger now, i just hope they know their worth and that we have their back

I will forever hold a grudge against mnet and JYP for all the unnecessary stress they put skz through. They chipped away at everyone’s confidence in each episode, and it’s a little heartbreaking to watch. The boys were too young, but still handled themselves so well

I find a lot of these "survival" shows very manipulative and mentally abusive for the kids. I really can't watch them. Especially for SKZ, it always seemed to me that when Lee Know and Felix were eliminated and then "given a second chance".....that JYP did that solely for ratings. What makes me upset is how DEVASTATED those boys (LK, F *and* the other SKZ members) were when they thought everything was over for them. I can't even imagine how much they all beat themselves up about it, before JYP in his "benevolence" decided to bring LK and F back to try again.

That's why I warn everyone who starts the survival show. I'm not 100% familiar with Korean survival shows (I've only seen this one and the BigBang one lol), but it just reminds me of really scummy competitions. It was never for the boys, just the views. But luckily the boys use this to strive to be better rather than let it haunt them. If you want a laugh you should look up Changbin hates JYP compilations. The man has never forgiven JYP for this and he's not always the best at hiding his emotions on his face. (There's also an old Weekly Idol episode where early on they let Felix ask JYP directly why he eliminated him, it's kinda funny but also weird...)
