Okay, so all is in the video - but we did forget to mention one thing: we decided to skip the Japanese album for now because that was the majority's vote down in the comments for the previous song. So while we 100% will eventually return to them, for now, it's the next album.

If im not wrong this is the prequel to pirate king and treasure. Like it explains the beginning of their journey and stuff

2023-12-05 07:40:46 +0000 UTCTo add something additional, if you want to understand more of the lore/storyline, there are two YT channels (Bookish Theories and ETERNITEEZ) that break down and explain the lore.. two different ways though. Bookish uses the stories that inspired ATEEZ (Pirates of the Caribbean; Dr Jeckyl/Mr Hyde, etc) and ETERNITEEZ presents the Diary Entries from the albums along side the visuals from the MVs/Teasers/Trailers. You don’t have to react to them at all and just watch them on your own time. But it may help you to understand the storyline more and see how everything they do is connected and very intentional (including the weird audio). 🥰😉

2023-11-19 15:17:38 +0000 UTC*races in* Yes, YES, you MUST listen to the Diary track. It's all spoken word, but it is the same narrator as we see here in the Film. It sets the stage and gives us a "place" setting for both the lore, and for the album. And also yes, the sounds here are intentional, even if you're not a fan. Reality is all over the place here, and that's why it doesn't sound as tightly mastered. What will blow your mind here is that this Film served as the tracklist preview for this album. The parts you heard here are from the actual songs on the album, but they're so immersive when used this way that it feels unreal, and it's supposed to. This album is all about dreams, perceptions, reality and unreality, and really the "start" of the journey in the truest sense. There's a lot to love, and I can't wait for you to see it. But yeah, don't skip anything here, just mash it in with the first track. :) Loved your reaction to this. It IS so capable of drawing you in, you forget you're not watching a super confusing movie. ;)

There’s a whole discord and master doc run by Atiny (or loretiny if you will) who dedicate their time and energy to breaking down the lore. (They are some amazing Atiny to say the least) The hourglass is called the Chromer. It’s used for inter dimensional time travel. It uses the moon phases, which isn’t mentioned in this but you’ll learn is important. You’re also watching in chronological order which may make this confusing because Fever is actually before Treasure in the lore. I’m so glad you guys watched this. The lore really is an interesting rabbit hole to go down. I hope one day, by the end, they make a movie out of it lol. Thanks for this. 🖤

I don't even know why I'm commenting before watching it lol I'm just that excited, I have been SO ANXIOUS for you to get to this album. I said screw it and watched it before work lol. Might be later but that's fine. I love how impressed you guys were, this was so beautifully made. I can't wait to see this unpacked in comments! So, I know this is out of order but this is me humbly begging you to check out the mv for "inception" it goes along with this film..... Plus I'll cry 😅

2023-11-18 15:51:10 +0000 UTCThe diary film basically gives you a look at who ATEEZ (from our universe) is *within the lore* so we can understand what experiences led to them coming together as a group and making the decisions they end up making -- that's not to say that it's true to life, though. Jongho for instance played soccer (or football, for the rest of the world) not basketball. As you move forward and eventually go through the complete set of diaries to date, those will fill in extra details, but this (which is actually based directly on the very first diary released, if I'm not mistaken) gives you a basic foundation to build from. We still don't have all the blanks filled in, but it's a work in progress -- we know that Yeosang's dad is the one who closed the warehouse (Wooyoung ran back there to share his experience with the guys but it was chained off), which causes Yeosang to feel guilty and make certain decisions later on; we know that the "Be Free" bracelet dancer girl has a Z counterpart who shows up later (and Hwa runs into her there); and so on. It's very much a mind-bending sort of ride if you try to take in too much at once, but if you read the diaries later then you'll end up nodding your head and thinking "Oh! That's what was going on in the (insert track here) MV!" or "That's why the lyrics said that". They've done a truly stellar job with it all. I think the audio was meant to be this way, a purposeful warping that makes your brain waver between thinking it's reality versus dream... I personally think that's a part of what made it as immersive as it is, too, but maybe that's just me. There was probably more that I wanted to say, but I started laughing at you guys and my thoughts flew right out of my head.

2023-11-18 14:28:11 +0000 UTCI think one of the reasons the film doesn't make much sense is because you guys are reacting to the albums in chronological release order instead of the story order. The Fever series comes before the Treasure series in terms of story order. The diary track on the album I personally don't listen to because there's a lot of talking and all I want to do is listen to music 😅 However I think what is mentioned in the diary track is related to the film and the album

2023-11-18 11:38:21 +0000 UTCTime-wise, "Treasure" is set in the future, so this is the start of their journey. In "Treasure" we get to see that Ateez has decided to stick together to chase after their dreams (Treasure).

2023-11-18 09:22:33 +0000 UTCYou are pretty spot on. The artefact called Cromer (the hourglass) lets Ateez travel to different dimensions and time; that's why we get to meet Halateez. Halateez Hongjoong gives this world's Hongjoong the Cromer, and he uses it to give them as a group of friends a second chance.

If anyone was ambitious enough I can think of a few journals that would love academic papers written about the entire lore cycle, it's that's well done. I'm so glad to see you guys enjoy it.
