As nerdy musicians drooling over details and cool sounds, the direct comparison we could make with the two versions of the same song was just....:') it was beautiful.

i'm so happy you're including the original 3racha versions in these! even my untrained ear can hear the more raw quality of 3racha's predebut mixtape, but it's so interesting to hear a professional opinion on how they've grown. (i still unironically love some of 3racha's predebut stuff though, they were so young but they did so well!) if you ever run out of SKZ content, 3racha published 3 predebut mixtapes! or if you ever just want a laugh, i recommend watching 3racha react to "Wow" by 3racha lmao

2024-01-22 16:23:38 +0000 UTChonestly this song is so beautiful and heartfelt too. they chose to specifically recreate this song as a gift to Stay - which in itself is the sweetest thing ever. i cant wait for you to watch the skz code(??) episode that shows the actual skit behind the MV! The 3racha version felt a lot more raw and gritty, and i think that has its own charm and beauty to it, and the ot8 version has such beautiful mixing and production,and really gives each member the chance to shine and show their skills, which just shows how talented 3racha is at what they do!

2023-11-13 01:46:47 +0000 UTCThe mixtapes always have a special place in my heart because it’s like the a perfect meld of 3racha into skz. It’s where we see the old 3racha writing skill and music but with new verses that the members wrote themselves and we can see how 3racha especially have grown since being 3 member group to being one bug group with skz. Since they did these back in the first 2 years of their debut there are versions with all 9 members, but since they re-released their music there are also clear changes when they changed the song to just be for the 8 members. The placebo video was a gift for stays at Christmas but videos for the other mixtapes can be found with all 9 members during their original releases with the I AM and Clé series albums.

And Chan like he was still learning but the track is gooood! I REALLY like this song - mostly the lyrics get me. I do love the track though and how much it improved with the OT8 version but like you said mixtape versions are much more raw. Someone said in another comment - Lily from NMIXX is on the track towards the end. Even she sounded amazing then.

When they were still trainees, they dropped 3 mixtapes under 3RACHA and their aliases CB97 (Chris Bang), SpearB (Changbin), and J.One (Han Jisung). Albums (all released in 2017): - J:/2017/mixtape (named after the folder on Chan’s laptop) - 3Days - Horizon https://soundcloud.com/3RACHA The numbered mixtapes are also the first time some of the members were credited as lyricists on a track.

They kind of use the term mixtape differently now. 3racha used it like how you describe. From a production viewpoint. It's a demo, almost. Like the guides that 3racha make for SKZ now. A song that isn't highly produced or polished. It just gives you the raw stuff. But now they use mixtape more like how we did back in the 80s. When we would make playlists of songs for our friends on cassette tapes. Those were called mixtapes. A little collection of polished and produced songs. That seems to be how they use the term now. All the individual ot8 releases are mixtapes. Like they are adding a song to the end of the cassette for their bestie, Stay. 🥰

In 2019 they performed 1:40min of Mixtape 1 with all nine members as intro song during The Fact Music Awards before moving onto Miroh! They made the Mixtape1 stage super playful with colorful lego bricks (and close shots of IN smiling with braces :D ) and then the stage darkened and they started performing Miroh! Like i saw the episode where they talked about making it but i never watched the video 😱. But it was so stinking cute. I never actually thought to listen to them back to back. I knew they were different in many ways but i didn't know just how different. So honestly this is EXTRA exciting for me. The mixtapes are SOO good, 3racha and the Ot8 versions. I legitimately can't wait for you to get into 3rachas discography. But I'm always so shocked when i find out that there are people that Hate/dislike SKZ. Im just sitting here like HOW?!?! But i lke this format very much. Original first then the Ot8 version.

2023-11-12 11:15:33 +0000 UTCSomething I love about the SKZ Versions is it isn't a direct copy. Each individual member gets their own new verse in it, like when 3racha wrote the original. The hold the 3rd 3racha album has on me is incredible, it's a no-skip album for me, honestly. It's also the album all the mixtape versions come from I think, including Matryroshka. It has almost a completely different vibe from the first two. Plus, the bonus of getting an OT8 Hoodie Season was great, it was one of my favorites from the album.
