Handsome Sausages

It's going to happen! :D

Handsome Sausages

Let's go sausages woohoo! XD :') It's a beautiful song isn't it

Handsome Sausages

Hi there! I'm glad you say that about the 'music' itself- because that is so true. It's such a fitting piece that, like we say, also knows how to balance itself with the lyrics. It's such a beautiful song!

Handsome Sausages

Woohoo! Proud sausages unite! Yes indeed :') Just reading the comments really adds a lot of depth to this song, including your interpretation!

Handsome Sausages

TXT is greatttt! Hopefully you'll get a chance to watch some of them one day XD They got some good good music and style we tell you! Either way, many things for you to check out coming :D

Handsome Sausages

Definitely! That's a great way to view it too :D And oh yeh, the album review is gon happen at some point for sure. We've decided on that XD

Handsome Sausages

Perhaps, indeed! :) That's another way to look at it for sure!!

Handsome Sausages

XD Well thank you. And I absolutely LOVE your thought on the 'not being able to catch up in this life' - it makes total sense :) And with that, of course, we are 100% going with SKZ replay as well XD, though you're probably right with max 2 songs before rock star haha. Sigh they come out so fast :')

Handsome Sausages

No truer words have been spoken. We were so shocked back in the day - we can't even imagine being there and experiencing it :'(

Handsome Sausages

I thought about the injured animals rehabbing with the “I’m catching up” lyric. They’re catching up too

Here i am 4 days later finally catching up 😏 see what i did there? With everything I've missed these last couple of days. But believe it or not it took me a couple of listens before i fell in love with FNF i hadn't seen the intro to 5 star thing so i didn't know what exactly it meant. But now i adore this song so very much. I would consider myself a sausage 😸 its an honor and a pleasure to be a part of y'all fan group 😸😸. I would love the in depth music/song analysis of the 5star album as a whole. I just want to say that i think youtiful is such a beautiful fan song and it makes me cry every time i hear it. And then seeing how they recorded it makes it that much more special to me. Especially knowing that channie was smiling while singing his part. Like i start cheesing and crying at the same time. I can't wait to hear/watch your reaction to it.

Kwestleo

I would definitely enjoy a full album review!!

Haly LeFlore

Im also happy to be a sausage! lol this song always makes me cry and this time was no exception! thank you! ♡

I've just gotten around to watching this, and normally i'm a lurker, but this song is a personal fave from 5 STAR for me - Maybe it's the fact that i'm aussie, but this song is so tender and bittersweet to me - even not taking the lyrics into account, musically, it makes my heart HURT and makes me almost want to cry - It's so strong, but also soft, happy, but also sad. This song for me is (as well as the bushfires) about juxtaposition. It's almost like it's saying 2 things at once? IDK - just a pointless ramble from me, but regardless, i adore this song.

Taaaaashaaaaa

Just wanted to say that I for one am proud to be a Sausage! This song always strikes a chord within me. The "I'm Catching Up" just makes me think of those who I've lost along the way. It's like, someday I'll catch up to where you are now, and will have so much to say when I get there.

Tristana Keauna

If you record it, I will watch it. This is a blanket statement for this channel (excepting txt reactions. Although, maybe if I watched your txt reactions, I'd get more excited about txt. I'll look into that). Thank you! If someone forced me to order the songs on this album from most to least loved, this would be near the bottom, but as always, after watching you, I have new thoughts.

My interpretation of ‚catching up, chase an impossible thing‘ is, sometimes you realise what you had when it’s gone. Then you try to get back, revisit, see more clearly what it had been, delve in the memory, so basically „catching up“. But as it is gone, as it is in the past, you cannot go back, you cannot recreate it ever again. No matter how hard you run and chase it, it’s impossible to get it back. This sounds so much like Chan, the way he is formulating his thoughts in lyrics. Oh, I would love it if you would go through the whole album again and share your thoughts about the music and the concept of the songs in their order and connection!

Ideosycrat

Hmm When you want to catch up with someone, it's catching up on the news in their life. Maybe they want to know all that happened in the bushfires, hear the stories, share the loss. And it would be impossible to hear all the stories.

Selande

That is a sound sound interpretation :) And you're so right about the melodies and percussions feeling that way too - it certainly adds a hopeful note to the entire thing which we appreciated even more!

Handsome Sausages

That's so true - while the song subject was very much a heartbreaking one, the vocals and everything about it was so beautiful we had a cognitive dissonance to deal with while listening XD

Handsome Sausages

Hello!! I just want to say, I don't mind being a Sausage... lol :) For the lyric's interpretation, I always seemed to feel that they were dealing with the grief of losing someone/something precious and also the guilt of not being able to stop that loss. In their case, (possibly and in a certain sense) not being able to help stop or even just help slow down the wildfires. Towards the end, the lyrics say in the Bridge "Look at the night sky, Even if I close my eyes, I only see you, Even if it's impossible to run and chase" signifying (to me, at least) that yes they're catching up in death wise, but they're also "catching up" in the sense that they'll never reach them again in this life. Does that make sense? Maybe this is just how I've interpreted it, especially as I lost my Grandma in Feb 2021... yet, their M/V also seems to signify a longing for the past as though something has changed to negatively effect Stray Kids and they were all separated because of it. Thus, wanting to "Run and chase, even if it's impossible" the time before and also "I'm catching up" to the other members again, hoping to reconnect and become one team again. I don't know, though, those are my (very long) thoughts on this song. :) I can't wait for Youtiful!! One of my favorites! Also, I would LOVE if you guys kept going with SKZ-Replay!! There are soooooooooo many more good songs that have 1 or 2 members showing their individual and unit colors that I would absolutely LOVE to hear your guys' thoughts/opinions/reactions/Korean interpretations to the rest of that album! Though, I'm afraid you won't even get 2 songs in before Rock Star comes out in a week and a half (EEK!!!!!!!), but take it for what it's worth. :) Thanks for the awesome reactions!! :D

Estelle S

Sure thing! :D We'll react to everything available for this album!

Handsome Sausages

Well said, especially about the transformation that keeps going! :D Love this so much! :)

Handsome Sausages

This song is very meaningful and I think I speak for a lot of Australian stays when I say that FNF has a special place in our hearts. The 2019 bushfires were devastating and the amount of wildlife plus people and homes that we lost was huge, it almost felt like the end of the world with how covered in ash everything was. When I heard this song on the album for the first time it was comforting because it was like that struggle we went through as a country was felt by all Australians even the ones who weren't here when it happened. Australian flora and fauna are some of the most beautiful and interesting in the world (my opinion is biased) and it's so important that we remember and care for it, as well as all flora and fauna across the world.

Isabel

Yess that's absolutely happening :D

Handsome Sausages

Oh we'd love to check it out! And YES thank you for the comment :) It really added a lot to the reaction so much much much appreciated ;)

Handsome Sausages

Oh yeh! That's true!! We had that written down so we'll be doing that for sure :D

Handsome Sausages

Personally I think "catching up" is getting to a place where you can see the beauty in the world again after you've experienced great loss (whether that is losing a dream, a loved one, a community, etc). It feels impossible to catch up to the world again afterward. I also think it helps that while the song is a heavier sound with a heavier message, the melody still has these moments of lift and the percussion still feels like it's moving forward despite itself. So a song about remembrance, loss, but ultimately, choosing to live and love life again.

Beautiful song. Slightly heartbreaking but vocals are heavenly. It is definitely personal and you can tell it affected them (mostly Chan and Felix) not being able to see their home for so long and not being able to do anything about the brushfires.

After Youtiful please react to Recording Scene ( https://youtu.be/9odkgNeDJm4?si=bmP5dTtnmhCxmwsT ) that contains recording of Item, Topline and Youtiful. It's really interesting, because you can see how 3racha is guiding other members.

I like this song! Speaking personally, my read on the lyrics is that it's about pursuit of healing after loss, or growth after destruction - the Australian bushfires were horrific, but within our ecosystem, there are also certain gumtrees that only germinate through fire, and I feel like that's what the song is getting at. In that sense, 'catching up' to death isn't about stopping, but about undergoing a transformation that allows you to grow anew, while still understanding it as a devastating process, both because of the violence of the fire and the length of time it takes to recover from it.

hessa

I think a really nice way to wrap up the album would be to go back and watch the intro to 5star part 1. Their the boys talked about the meaning of some of the songs and how they came to be. I think it would be cool to see how similar your interpretations of the songs match up with what the kids said.
