This song has been stuck in our heads ever since we first heard it and...yeh, now it's stuck even more. This one, while we do expand on it, was really tough to describe - partly because we were brain fogged at the time, and also because what we feel were just difficult to explain with words, simply put.
Either way, we tried - and we hope you enjoy this one as usual <3

Answer's only downfall is that it got released when covid hit and it didn't win any awards. It deserves so much. It's a trap song. One that you would use to trick your friend into liking Ateez. lol. My sister that knew nothing of Ateez, when she heard Answer she told me she couldn't get it out of her head.

I won't say I "grew up" with LP (I was a young adult when I started listening to them), but that song is still one that sticks with me from those days, and HJ's cover reimagines it in such a special way... especially when paired with his MV.

If you haven't already, you should totally check out their MAMA 2020 performance of this, it was the performance that introduced them as one of the contestant teams for Kingdom. It's SOOO GOOOD! The clip at the very end with the man in the white mask (see also the final 1.5 seconds of 'Bouncy') was from the song "Sector 1" from The World Ep.1 : Movement. 2023-10-25 23:52:23 +0000 UTCThere's a lot of lore I could mention about this song and video but instead what I'll say is Answer is in my top 3 Ateez title tracks. It makes me feel like I could run through a wall or like combust especially at the end. Ateez song endings are always good but the energy of Answer is unmatched. I always come back to Yeosang's line in the middle "we started in the desert with nothing." Which is both true in the lore AND true of Ateez in real life (filming their first videos in the Moroccan desert) and it just fills me with pride and admiration that they made it to where they are now from that state. That's the mood that Answer embodies to me when I listen to it.

2023-10-25 21:58:09 +0000 UTCSo happy that we've gotten to "Answer"! This track was my intro to the guys, and it only took this one track to get me hooked. It was instant, and every track since then has just reinforced my appreciation of and love for their music. The lore references make a lot more sense once you make your way through the diary entries, for real. I was totally lost the first time I watched, but that's okay... at least now I'm able to better wrap my head around it all. The teaser at the end of this MV is one that actually makes me low-key happy that I didn't find them until a year ago, because it meant that I was able to hear and recognize that song as soon as it popped up in my playlist rather than having to wait 2.5 years for it (it's the intro to one of the songs from The World EP 1, released July 29, 2022)... I wish that I'd found them sooner, obviously, but stuff like that definitely does make me glad that my own patience hasn't been so sorely tested, yet! I'd definitely suggest dance practices. They're almost necessary.

2023-10-25 20:56:32 +0000 UTCThe intro is part of Declaration (from the Japanese album). The masked man in white is an Android Guardian. He’s part of “Strictland” which is ruled by “Z”. The AG’s are the ones that are responsible for keeping humanity numb and if anyone wakes up and they can’t control them, they are disposed of. The AG is chasing ATEEZ to get the cromer they stole. (At the end of the Bouncy video, it was an AG that Hongjoong shot with his bullet). This MV is where ATEEZ no longer are conflicted with HALATEEZ (they were often considered the bad guys) but are just alternate versions of them from the “Z” world. I’m pretty sure that is the gist of it…I mave have a few details off, but their storyline is soo involved. This album was soooo satisfying!!!

2023-10-25 19:17:17 +0000 UTCYay! One of my "holy grail" songs. I realized watching your video that this is one of the songs to which I know the most Korean lyrics to sing along. Go me. Anyway, if it helps, we see fire referred to a LOT in ATEEZ lyrics: predominantly in Fireworks (불놀이야) as a later title track; we speak of the ember lit (불씨처럼) and the flame (불꽃이) in Hala Hala; Bouncy has reference to things on fire (불이 붙어 fly); Win (Yeah, get on up, we gon' lit 불 지펴). "The call" is referred to in both Say My Name (Say my name (불러 불러)) and here in Answer. Thanks for your confusion on the wording, too, because it made me think about where we saw different instances of the words. I think there are other references, too, but this is what came to mind quickly. My Korean language learning is very much in its infancy, so I often miss some of the subtleties. I feel like there's also another term for fire/flame, and I couldn't think of it to review lyrics with.
