We're horrible readers with an even worse memories so apologies for forgetting the detail that was provided (like the time line for MAMA vs Kingdom or how the different groups are visible at the end of the MAMA stage, etc.) but we still VERY much enjoyed this and....

I'm typing this in January 2024, so you already know this by now: The MAMA version of Victory Song came before Kingdom, because the MAMA performance was advertisement to drum up interest in Kingdom. It was setting up the idea that there would be different idol groups competing - which is why the short dance-off showed the three dancers staring at the crown at the end. (BTW, @11:18 on your video, the voice was saying "WHO WILL BE THE KING?" - Meaning, who will win Kingdom and take the crown?)

2024-01-28 07:40:21 +0000 UTCMan, what you guys said about the first experience... I wish I could go back to the beginning of June and just have an inkling of what I was getting into... I found Stray Kids through Case 143, but after that is a blur where I listened to them only for 3-4 months - okay, am still mostly only listening to them mainly. There's just something about their songs, that mala flavor God's Menu talks about, that makes them sound more complicated and diverse than others' music. Being a musician myself, I find it hard to listen to some music that is "boring" to me with the same chord progressions or lazy singing, but SKZ never disappoint! Even if I don't like a song at first, I'll usually end up liking it eventually or when I'm in a particular mood. Anyway, that's a lot and I've still got Maze of Memories until I'm caught up. Did I stay up until after 1 am to catch up on all of these? Yes. Yes, I did. Was it worth it? Absolutely! :D Thanks for letting me/us in on your Stray Kids journey! Here's to many more reactions! :)

The MAMA 2020 version was such a spectacular screw you by SKZ because they didnt get a single nomination on that award, which is madness, but were still asked to act as showponies to promote Kingdom and perform. Frankly, I think they killed it, and sent out the most powerful message possible - and how incredible that it unintentionally foreshadowed how kingdom would end! Im so glad someone pointed out Boxer also has 2 versions, and honestly its definitely worth reacting to both too! Thank you once again for reacting to things for us <3

I didn't hear it until like months into my own stray kids journey, but it is no joke one of my all time favorite songs, not just one of my favorite stray kids songs. It's so gorgeous, and the contrast between the lyrics and the mv is amazing. I hope you enjoy! Also, Boxer has a street version that is super cute, I can't remember if you watched it yet or not, but if you havne't you should watch the street version!

The MAMA 2020 performance was the legend, Stray Kids decided to perform this song there even they didn't get any nomination.. YES! just like they came form the future, this epic stage led them to Kingdom legendary War and they got the crown at the end. I really love the dance battle between 3 groups. love chemical between them.

2023-09-15 14:32:29 +0000 UTCI’m so glad you checked out both- I’m not sure if anyone filled you in fully on the drama with the MAMA performance, and why they chose that song- so it’s 2020, the year of God’s Menu, Back Door, etc, and yet SKZ didn’t get a single nomination. YET Mnet invited them to perform, pretty much solely to promote Kingdom. So they chose a B-Side from 2019 to perform instead of one of their hits from 2020 as both an f you and a clear message that they were far from underdogs going into this competition, and that anger and drive you saw in the performance was completely real. Also that was indeed San at the end ! And Juyeon from The Boyz, I believe. All promo for Kingdom, which had yet to happen. I believe this whole thing also led Han to write “I Got It,” one of his most beloved songs which is believed to be an Mnet diss.

Also I love how they were basically saying it into existence, reminded me about some early BTS with all "we are the best!" messaging before they were actually that big, manifesting it!

It is on my frequent replay list (at least 2 - 3 times per month and especially in the car where I can really turn my volume up and piss off my neighbors!) lol The other odd thing about MAMA that year was that ATEEZ was named as the Mala-taste group when it was actually SKZ that coined the phrase (literally the premise behind God's Menu). Poor ATEEZ caught a lot flack for that when it wasn't even their fault. I swear MNET does these things on purpose sometimes.

2023-09-15 02:46:17 +0000 UTCWoojin left in Oct 2019, just before the last Clè album was released. They had to re-record the album, re-shoot MV, and pushed it back a month. So you'll only see him in the first two Clè albums and not the third. I also agree with others for Boxer - both the street version and the special video are awesome. The street version was shot in Australia so you'll see Bang Chan's dog Berry in it. The special video version is OT8, but shows off the amazing choreo. Both are so worth watching though. Their street versions are so funny.

While the I Am series is definitely good and the Go Live:In Life series is definitely an arc, Clè just hits in a very satisfying way and has (what I feel) are some of their most memorable b-sides. As for the MAMA performance - yes it is one of their best performances - but for more than just how awesome it is. The -reason- why it's so awesome is because SKZ was basically snubbed at MAMA (not even offered a Fan Choice nomination) when it came to awards, yet they were expected to come up with a performance just to promote Kingdom (which was kind of last minute as well). So what did they do? They K I L L E D that stage! Also, that last bit with the dance...that was also part of the Kingdom promo. It was titled "Triangular Fight" and it was Hyunjin, Juyeon from The Boyz, and San from ATEEZ. While San didn't get a solo moment in the performance, his style definitely shone through and us multistans pretty much knew that we were going to be in for a very tough time once Kingdom actually started. lol

And listening to the album in order just sends tingles. Also wildly hilarious to watch you get caught by the visuals!

For Maze of Memories I think you did OT9 version last time so maybe you can do the OT8 version and/or as an added you can do the original version which is just 3racha, they performed at KCON 2019 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APEve7bn7EY) they also did a less serious version on idol radio (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0MtskiSn04). 2023-09-14 23:25:43 +0000 UTCAhhh I have many thoughts on Victory Song! I'm so glad you heeded the advice to listen to both! Both verisons accomplish different things. I think the OG Victory Song was the young Stray Kids having that naïveté (so to speak) and ego. OG Victory Song shows their "rookie" ambition. The MAMA verison is one of my favourite Skz performances ever. The MAMA version isn't naivë anymore, isn't full of ego, it comes as a reminder of "This is who we are, don't you know? Try and stop us!" Its cocky in a different way. Its telling the people that not only are they going to be on Kingdom, they're going to WIN. Also, they had no way of knowing this before but the MAMA verison became symbolic as Stray Kids went through majority of Kingdom without Hyunjin, as you know. I watched Kingdom as it was airing and STAYs wanted Skz to win, not just to say they won and get the prize, but also FOR Hyunjin. So, in retrospect, it makes me emotional to see Hyunjin grab the crown at the end of the MAMA performance. Also, this is probably one of my favourite looks that Hyunjin has ever had. He's scarily sexy haha. Anyways, thanks for the reaction and your thoughts on it! and also for reading my essay long comment on Skz. I'm in the midst of writing an Artist Profile on Skz for my music class in uni so I'm very much in the analyzing headspace.

It's so incredibly amazing and the part where Changbin says: "don't you know who we are?!" it's one of my favorites ever!!!
