Here's our reaction to ATEEZ's Django!
If This World and Dune showed what brute force feels like, Django is showing us what 'class' looks like. Class with power, of course.
Phew, such a sexy song - this album just gets better and better!!!
LET'S GOOOOO :D
Ha! I’m glad you enjoy them ☺️ I can get a little excited about Strayteez. To go further down the San Halazia/Wooyoung Django line parallel rabbit hole, they both end on the same vowels lyrically as well (“ooh yeah” in the former and “rules 야/ oops, yeah” in the latter) Now, in terms of meaning, the translations I have may be wrong, but the Halazia line (which is from the perspective of one of the oppressed people) is something like “oh no, everything has become barren, ooh yeah,” whereas the Django lines are something like “You know what? These are the rules right here/
You think about tomorrow, oops, yeah.” Considering I have to believe that the Django lines are aimed at people involved in the oppression of the people, it seems to me like it’s a mocking echo- like, you made everything barren for the people, so they couldn’t imagine a tomorrow, so lemme make this clear: we set the rules now, and now YOU don’t get to think about a tomorrow.” /end dissertation on a minor similarity between a single line between “Halazia” and “Django”

You guys nailed it all on the head. Everything. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 You we’re a lot calmer than I expected; but that’s ok, bc Wake Up will murder you. Just don’t drink coffee or energy drinks before hand. Your heart won’t handle it. 😉🫰🏼

You guys just keep giving me quotes of the day, seriously...
"...the brain-f--cker that is Dune"
They are basically on a mission to rescue 'slaves' to the system/government, so it really makes sense that they're using DJANGO as a call sign of sorts. It just fits.
This definitely does have the 'classy' feel, like you said. I saw another person say it the sound of ice clinking made it sound like Mingi was just sitting and swirling his drink... and I love that, so much. They shoot up the bar and then can "Sit back and relax" (like Mingi says at the start of Bouncy) until it's time to move out again.
Can't wait to see you guys react to the final 2 tracks. They're amazing, too. But we've already said over and over that it's a no-skip album, lol.

Oh my goodness I can’t wait to hear your take on “Wake Up”- my absolute favorite on this album!
I really love how you explain the Korean wordplay in your reactions as well, it makes me appreciate Ateez’s genius even more ❤️
Love you both- can’t wait to watch you continue your Ateez/SKZ journey!

LOVED your commentary on this one, because I couldn't put my finger on it before, but it really is an - elegant - song. Thinking about the plot line, I feel like after Bouncy when Mingi cleared out the bar and Woo and San cleared out the boxing ring and the rest of them uh....did something with motorcycles and thrusted their pelvises (causing untold numbers of deaths), it's like....people know now. They don't need the be loud, because they've already proved themselves. (also loved the language insight)
A couple other things- I don't know if y'all have seen the TV series Firefly, but they're basically space cowboys fighting a totalitarian government, although it's a bit more lighthearted. This album reminds me of that whole vibe.
Another major thing I noticed is that Woo's major lines (for example, when he comes in for the first time) have a very similar melody to a line in Halazia (the first line that San sings after "빛이 되어주오, oh, Halazia," right in the beginning). Not sure if there's a connection there, but it's cool.
Also, Yunho's little "ra ta ta ta" and then when the sound cuts out and he says his line. That's all.
Thanks for the reaction, as usual, and sorry for the novel, as usual!

Mingi being sneaky with the lyrics. Lol.
The sound I like most in there is the sound of a stirrer being stirred in the glass. It's like Mingi is just chilling in a fancy sofa with one arm up on the armrest with a powerful aura coming from him and he's holding a glass of of whisky in one hand with ice and a stirrer in it and just cooly spinning the glass causing the ice and stirrer to stir the whisky
