This is such an IN song. 🥰 I love that you can just hear him smiling the entire time. Such beautiful vocals - he has such a unique voice and I love he got to show himself in this song.

Our agibbang really wrote a song that fits him so well, and the fact that his unique, distinct voice and vocal style get to shine on so bright is so fitting! I can't think of a better person to have sung this song, and im so happy INs vocals got the attention and love they deserve!

2023-08-04 15:11:13 +0000 UTCI feel like “Hug Me” is the song that finally made me stop thinking of I.N. as like, the little brother maknae. Sure, “Maknae on Top” is fun, but “Hug Me” is exactly what y’all said- it’s like..intimate. It’s boyfriend material! And it utilities that unique tone to his voice that I can’t describe in a way so that it doesn’t sound muffled or out of place, but like it’s talking to you. Y’all know I adore SKZ, but one small criticism I have of their production is that I feel that occasionally they don’t quite know what to do with I.N.’s voice, because it is SO distinct. They’ve definitely gotten better with it over the years, though, so props to them. (To me, Bang Chan is the other one with the voice I could pick out of a line up anywhere, but I think that since her participate in writing and producing so much, 3Racha is naturally going to write songs where his voice fits in a bit more). This song was a grower on me and I love it now. The song itself is a hug. Also, something that makes me laugh is that ALMOST this entire album is these guys being in love- we got sexy love (Connected), love that’s run out (Limbo), love that can’t be fixed because it’s too late (Love Untold) enigmatic lost love (Deep End), non-enigmatic lost love (Stars & Raindrops), and happy loving boyfriend material love (Hug Me)….Then we got Han running but Changbin loudly proclaiming that his life’s like a doodle. I love it. Personally I adore #LoveStay- written by the trio but performed by the whole group. It’s such a warm coda to the A-side of the album. But then hold on tight for 5-Star because it’s fantastic. Thanks for your reaction, as always! ✌🏻&💕

2023-08-03 13:17:00 +0000 UTCI’ll put in another vote for 5-Star. I am SO interested to hear what you have to say about Hall of Fame in particular. I also think you’re going to love ITEM. Honestly - and I said this before in a previous comment - I truly think 5-Star is their most cohesive album. They weren’t blowing smoke when they named it 5-Star.

Tbh I would be in favor of skipping #lovestay BUT before diving into 5 Star, you could react to the Japanese version of The Sound, which was the title track of their JP album released between SKZ Replay and 5 Star. Also, the Sound is one of the songs included in 5 Star, but they released the Korean version, which is much less impactful than the Japanese one, so reacting now to the Japanese version (or even combining it with the Korean one) would make you kill two birds with one stone, as you could already tackle a song from 5 Star, as well as enjoying a Japanese title track 🌟

Nickko has worked on "24 to 25", "Novel", "Love Untold", "Waiting for Us", and "Youtiful" (off the new 5-STAR album). #LoveSTAY does have all 8 members performing and there is a music video with subtitles. It was originally a holiday/new years gift to Stay at the end of 2021 (YT only content) that was later added to the SKZ-Replay compilation. All the B-sides will have been previously released music that was also YT exclusive content. My vote is for 5-STAR but I'd be happy either way.

Novel is Seungmin’s first time with a track that’s really his on their albums and Don’t Let Me Love You is a great one by Hyunjin. Obvs both with Bang Chan and other producers involved but still. And Battleground really quickly became a favourite. Maybe you can go back to it later. I’d hate you to miss out on any SKZ.
