Added 2023-07-31 03:52:37 +0000 UTCIF YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW (Lee Know (...sorry had to do it.))
It's Episode 3 of Kingdom Legendary War, and we got ATEEZ on the horizon. We watched SKZ. We were blown away. SF9 had some tight tight choreography and concept. But ATEEZ.................Kraken? Now we get why EVERYONE wanted us to watch this performance.
Enough said. The video will speak for us.
Again, we hope you'll have fun with us on this new journey, and THANK you for being by our sides :D!
Enjoy <3

I know i am 1 year late but i wanted to make my ranking too haha 1. ateez - (i mean, no words needed) 2. the boyz - Perfomance wise i think was the strongest after ateez 3. stray kids - great perfomance but i think the storyline was as strong as the other two 4. BTOB 5. SF9 - i think they did something the other teams couldn't 6. ikon - i think it has a similar vibe to the btob one (theatre wise) but i find the other one more complete No one is gonna read this but i someone does it, i apologize for my grammar mistakes <3

2024-10-22 04:45:47 +0000 UTCAteez were incredible, amazing!!! But the thing that other groups have couches with tables and Ateez just chairs really pisses me. What a discrimination 😤

2024-08-24 12:52:04 +0000 UTCI love both Skz and Ateez a lot and Ateez likely have my all time fave kpop songs and performances but there is just something with Skz as a whole that draws me in. The mix of god's menu and side effects hit home super hard and it still keeps being my fave, maybe even all of legendary wars. I also really Enjoyed SF9 in this episode.

2024-03-22 02:33:38 +0000 UTCAs a person who watched kingdom for Stray Kids, this was legit the episode that turned me into an actual atiny, i hadnt heard much of them or the boyz before kingdom and I was intrigued but after Ateez were insane here I became a hardcore fan. They were so amazing. Skz were good too but Ateez were just crazy!

2023-10-21 19:57:27 +0000 UTCThe Ateez “extra budget” was a can of worms during the show. Ateez and KQ got a lot of hate. It was just them using stage things they already had, and the money in the budget used well.

2023-10-21 01:02:29 +0000 UTCI haven't read all of the comments but I didn't see anyone else answer a question you both asked during the SF9 section. The weird yellow things in their hairline are mics (I'm pretty sure the yellow part is tape that was put over the mic to protect it during hair, makeup, and costuming. The tape would be removed later before performing). They're typically used in stage performances like plays and musicals because they're smaller. The wire gets fed under a wig or through the hair and down the back inside the clothes to a mic pack. This helps to keep the mics less noticeable to the live audience.

2023-08-08 05:29:07 +0000 UTCMoment of silence for the vocal king that is Jongho! I love this Ateez performance. It is my favorite and never fails to give me goosebumps every time. I also love all the lore they include in these performances as well. The arrangement is just on point. I grew up listening to a lot of classical music so it holds a special place for me and when they incorporated into Wonderland, it was everything I wanted and more. I probably listen to this arrangement more than the original “Wonderland” (it’s on Spotify if you didn’t know). Bobby’s reaction will always be my favorite. I love Kingdom because it gives you a bit of insight into each group. Between BTOB and then chill Bobby who just wants to have fun, they all hold special lil places for me. I can’t wait for you to see the next episodes! It’s getting good! Thank you for these reactions. You guys are the best!

2023-08-05 02:34:25 +0000 UTCahhh episode 3!!! honestly the budget thing was a shitshow but it wasnt the groups' faults, and the 3 groups whos companies did tell them about the budgets got so much unwarranted hate for something they had no control over. That being said, this is probably one of my favourite versions of shin menu, and i cant wait till you hear side effects for the first time! Its truly MAD. all the groups did so well and the next few episodes are some of my favourites! man im so excited to continue this journey with yall! Im dying to see your reactions to the SKZ cover of one of the groups songs, the vocal skills were insane, and IKON did such an amazing job with theirs too! and oh my god Love Poem!! Yall are NOT ready!

2023-08-03 20:16:52 +0000 UTCIf I hadn't been ATINY before Kingdom, this performance would have done it for me. Everything about their performance was sheer perfection and there's not much I would have changed. Interesting, the mix version that they created for the show and the choreography for the show is what they've had in their tour since then. Seonghwa has swung swords, fired guns and they do that cannon (ironic name in context) with the guns/swords as part of the performance. Amazing. As others pointed out, ATEEZ was BUSY here. I think it was just a scheduling thing they couldn't avoid as the rounds started, but MNET made it seem like SF9 was everywhere (they were) and that ATEEZ was only doing comebacks, but it's worth noting that this was the first week of comeback performances, arguably the most important, and that everything during which San has the pink hair was filmed around this time, which includes Fireworks MV, Celebrate MV, Time of Love MV, an in-house variety show, the end of Imitation (for Yunho as second lead, Jongho, San, and Seonghwa), Yeosang had just begun being the MC for The Show, etc. Not to mention that Mingi was out on hiatus at this point, so they were doing this all one member down, and Hong Joong often covered Mingi's part in performances, too. Yep, budgetary controversy. And they didn't splash out on the Kraken, despite how good it appeared on stage. Yes, they were one of the three teams who got the memo about the increased production budget, but that also doesn't mean they spent it all, especially when reusing other stage sets they had built (you can see some of those items when you get to Win soon and watch the ATEEZ-official live performance for it, please). Everyone got all bent about the Kraken, but honestly, the other props they use throughout Kingdom in other rounds seem more expensive. ATEEZ's lore is present in their performance, too. The cromer (hourglass) that Hong Joong flips is a central prop, and the "New World" mention in song title and on the newspaper not only relates to a later song in their catalog, but ironically to the name of the mall where they shot Halazia. The original paper is given to Hong Joong at the beginning by a person dressed as HalaTEEZ. This was one of my least favorite Stray Kids performances. The storyline didn't really have a whole lot of meaning to me, and it wasn't clear exactly what story they were trying to tell. I like both the songs individually, and thought the mashup was good, but while we got interesting stage performances, they weren't storyline performances. SF9 was really good conceptually, but it's also clear that they suffered the budget problems and their performance, to me, lacked a coherent storyline as well. It's great to appeal to the senses, but not necessarily if you expect the audience to buy in to both scent and physical beauty at the same time. They worked hard; the concept let them down. I felt like Inseong worked hard for that jump and it ultimately wasn't even that visible/necessary for the performance. :\ So glad you finally got to see the legendary beast [of a performance] and that you were as stunned by how good it was as we were! Looking forward to the next episode!

2023-08-02 16:10:23 +0000 UTCThis! Both of these performances literally made me cry. I can’t count how many times I have watched/heard them (Fever Epilogue anyone? I’m so happy they put them there!) but they still leave me speechless and almost to tears.

2023-08-01 22:39:11 +0000 UTCThank you for pointing this out! It's true not just here but in other ATEEZ performances that, when you look closely...there's not nearly as much going on as it seems. There are LED effect's and inflatable things (which are not as expensive as they seem) but a lot of the effect is lighting, smoke, and ppl dressed in costumes acting with , like...boxes and ropes. Painted cleverly. This is the advantage of KQ being a production company, not a idol company.

2023-08-01 06:09:19 +0000 UTCSomeone already commented this about the budget controversy. But Ateez put their budget into the Kraken on the back stage. The front stage pirate ship was things ATEEZ/KQ already had from their cancelled 2020 World Tour due to COVID. So I guess you can say that they used the budget well. They also took advantage with the LED screens to make up for the lack of other decorations. You will see this throughout the episodes that KQ doesn't use the money to build a set on stage. Instead they have a few key props and use the LED screens to highlight ATEEZ in their performance.

2023-08-01 03:52:13 +0000 UTC👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I love sitting through the episodes with you guys. I didn’t know ATEEZ at all when I first watched Kingdom and this performance definitely put them on the map for me. As for Stray Kids, I really enjoy performances like this where they get to show multiple sides to them and not just the all out hype. The artistry at the beginning with Lee Know, Han, and Seungmin is probably my favorite part. Many people already commented about the budget but I can add that I’m glad you’re skipping the points and placing, aside from extra time it’ll take to watch it, for each round they give results in portions so it could be a round or two later before we even see the full scoring for an entire round. And so they’re going through emotional rollercoasters for no reason, I hated it. As always, looking forward to the next one! Thank you guys!

2023-08-01 00:09:26 +0000 UTCI hadn't heard 'Side Effects' prior to seeing Kingdom:LW, and I did actually pause and go listen to it before watching the SKZ stage here. I did that on any SKZ and SF9 songs I hadn't already heard, since I did know them and ATEEZ when going into my K:LW viewing... for the other groups, I watched and got my initial reactions to them through the show, instead. This mashup of the two songs works so very well, and is one of my favorites of the whole series... not their absolute best for me, but it's close. I wasn't really very familiar with them (I'd heard a few songs) prior to watching the show, so through the show I got a very good introduction and realized I like them a lot. ----- I love this performance of 'From the Wonderland', and I always try to make sure I point out certain things when commenting on reactions to it. I hope I can actually remember them today, since it's not something I saved! First, it's so nice to see them pay homage to the classical piece both in the title and in set design (the scroll on the desk reads 'From the New World'). Something about that just speaks volumes to me, and makes the result so much more meaningful in my mind. Second, I like how this ties in with a future (at the time of this performance) song off the album "The World EP 1 : Movement", called "New World". I've commented before about how they have themes which carry through their music, and this is another one... but it's also evidence of how far ahead the plan goes for them. There's more evidence to that effect in later stages on Kingdom:LW as well, with even heavier hints at what was to come. Third, those fits. Oh my goodness. Seonghwa has said (I forget where) that he wasn't sure about wearing a corset here, but I think all of ATINYville has blessed the stylist that convinced him to do it because he ended up happy about the result (and we ended up getting more of that look over time). Fourth, the choreo being created to let them battle the enemies that board their ship is awesome. Fifth, coming straight from that choreo note, it amazes me that Jongho had managed to run from one part of the set to the other, then up the stairs to his position for the next parts, and still did that well with his high notes. I've seen others point out that his voice seems strained or that it doesn't sound good or whatever, but when we consider not only his immediate preceding actions (swinging Yunho around and then running/climbing stairs) but also the fact that their schedule was packed with comeback stuff, I think we have absolutely no reason to complain about the performance he gave here. I think that's everything. It's all my brain is letting me process right now, at any rate! Like you said, after that it was definitely over and they won it... it's one of those iconic performances that we don't have to have been a fan at the time to appreciate when we do get to experience it. I love both versions of this song, but this one is my favorite (the recorded one with Mingi on it, though, of course!). ----- Poor SF9 is definitely right, but honestly they did so well and I like what they did with the song... it was a great idea, and they executed it well, but they had to be in their heads with the whole "goodness, what'd we just come after?" feeling.

2023-07-31 19:34:41 +0000 UTCI also forgot to mention, how Jongho keeps his voice so stable at that high pitch while spinning Yunho on the floor is incredible. Like, HOW?!

2023-07-31 17:51:00 +0000 UTCI'm so happy that you guys finally got around to reacting to Wonderland Symphony No.9! The first time I watched it, the kraken arm Jongho hitting those high notes just blew my mind out of the water. I definitely have mad respect for Hongjoong after seeing his work process. ATEEZ did a spectacular job. I honestly felt sorry for SF9 because they had to go after ATEEZ, but their performance was also incredible. Han-C I hope you're recovering from all these videos. I'm shocked you're still alive. Lol.

2023-07-31 17:27:46 +0000 UTC'Answer : Ode to Joy' is not only a beautiful rendition of the song, and a stellar collaboration with La Poem... it's also a deeply meaningful message to their fans that said this was all about ATINY and in the end the crown didn't matter. It's one of my favorite performances also (not just because 'Answer' was my first ATEEZ song, which made me fall immediately) because of that meaning, even though I wasn't even into Kpop at the time it still hits me so hard when I see it. I can't wait to see their reaction, too. The reactions I've seen basically can be divided into 2 groups - the ones who aren't already ATINY at heart are usually more critical and think it's not "up to par", whereas die-hard ATINY realize what it is and are just moved by it. It's quite interesting to see who falls into what group each time I watch someone react, lol.

2023-07-31 10:04:18 +0000 UTCI am so happy you finally got to experience the shock and bliss of ATEEZ's performance. This was the performance that IMMEDIATELY turned me into atiny. It really showcased a lot of their strengths, Jongho's amazing vocals, Hongjoong (and Edenary ofcourse!)'s producing skills (honestly, whoever thought of having a concept of adding classical to their music and it coming out SO perfectly! was genius), The amazing performance skills of Seonghwa, San, Wooyoung and Yunho. Like they and you said, it really felt like a movie. I really loved SKZ's performance as well. I would say out of all their stages in Kingdom this one was my least favourite, but I absolutely love how they used the space of the stage; how each scene flowed into the next. The music composition was done so well, they portrayed the feeling of going mad so well in my opinion. SF9 impressed me on another level as the other groups. They are incredibly active outside of their idol-role and as they are also a larger group, that makes it much harder for them to deliver a full, seamless package of a performance. With this performance and the ones in the later episodes, I always find that they did so well choosing a concept and music to fit their vibe. They know they have this sleek and sexy model vibe and use it to their advantage. It's the one thing that I find quite sad about kingdom and this comes down to what you talked about with the scoring not mattering so much as well. The type of performance they deliver is much different depending on the groups. It almost feels unfair to compare groups like SF9 and BTOB to SKZ and Ateez, it's just a very different type of performance, but that doesn't mean they are less good. Their shock-value is just different which is represented in the end scores (as well as ofcourse Ateez and SKZ being much bigger internationally than the other groups). Also, when you asked what that thing on their forehead was during the SF9 behind the scenes: I could be wrong but I think it's the type of microphone they use during musicals :) Thank you for making my monday morning a bit more bearable haha, can't wait until the next episode <3

2023-07-31 09:29:57 +0000 UTCYou talking about budget actually brings up the controversy that happened with this show where this episode 3 of the teams weren’t told about the budget increase and you can tell by the budget quality of the performances. Also during SF9 when Inseong was talking to his fellow actors you asked about the thing on their forehead. In musicals the actors don’t have headset mics or handheld mics as that would distract from the actual perfidious they need to hide mics elsewhere that won’t move and are small enough not to be noticed what you are seeing in the middle of their foreheads are the mics. They place them in their hair or in/under their wig so that it will be able to pic up their voice but not distract from the performance. For me I think my ranking was and still is the exact same as Han-C’s but the last 3 are all so close Ateez, skz, and the boyz performances are just so memorable but I also think that has to do with the fact that those 3 groups were the ones informed about the budget increase while the others weren’t and it makes me wonder what else ikon, btob, and sf9 would’ve done if they knew they had a larger budget. Also you saying hongjoong needed to sleep made me laugh a little because they were all running on very little sleep the whole show because of the fact they were preparing and promoting their comeback. Not to mention SF9 all had their own schedules with some of the members shooting for dramas, starring in musicals, modeling gigs, etc so most of them weren’t getting much sleep and then you have Bang Chan who is known for having horrible insomnia. There are actually clips from the Stray Kids survival show where you see him fall asleep as he’s working on the arrangements for the songs sometimes staying up until like 5am. I don’t know about the rest but I feel like so many of the guys participating in this show were so sleep deprived and it definitely made me a little worried when I first watched this because when you put that much stress on your body it lowers your immune system and this was still at the height of covid. I was definitely worried for their health. I will say while I dislike the overall scoring of the show I do like seeing how each of the groups rank each other because as fellow performers and musicians they understand how much work goes into the performances and seeing which ones each of the groups enjoyed the most. I think you guys watching the rankings at the end would be fine as that’s usually when they have the other group’s ranking each other, but the rankings at the beginning is where they talk about the fan votes and that’s where the popularity contest comes in. I don’t pay attention to the point system when watching the end rankings I just like seeing which groups each group chose as their top 3 and in what order. I think the ending rankings is also where they get ranked by the industry professionals which include other idols, dancers, producers, etc. so they too have knowledgeable of like what goes into making the arrangement or what goes into making a choreography or what skills/ techniques it takes to do certain vocal performances etc. so seeing how they rank each group is kind of interesting as well. But the rankings at the beginning of the episodes is when the popularity contest comes in.

2023-07-31 08:12:33 +0000 UTCAaaaaah finally! ATEEZ really knocked it out of the park with this one, especially knowing that they had VERY busy schedule from doing comeback promotions, to half of the group being on set for a k-drama, they really had little to no time to even sleep and to come up with all of THIS? yeah, it’s his will always be the legendary performance that it deserves to be. As for the scoring, I wish you would react to the professionals score and the other members score and just skip the fan votes since those first 2 are what matters, I would love to see you react to the groups choosing the performances they thought was best, it’s very interesting. And lastly about the budget, there was a budget of 500만원 I think and everyone stayed within this range I believe. As for ATEEZ they had that pirate wood prob from the Illusion MV already made, they just recycled it for this stage along with wooden boxes and a lot of the robes, you can rewatch the MV and see it there or from making of the MV also. I think most of the budget was probably for the inflatable kraken arm and probably the hydraulic parts that’s moving it, the contortionists dancers, swords, weapons…etc. Thank you for the reaction, I’m can’t wait for the next performances. They’re so epic!

2023-07-31 07:19:26 +0000 UTCwe're grateful for you guys too for watching these! personally I'm someone who likes watching shows with people and talking about them and these videos really give that vibe. gotta be honest skz's performance next stage is tied at #1 for me for my favorite kingdom stage so I'm super excited for yall to watch it lol thanks for another great video!

2023-07-31 07:15:35 +0000 UTCawww you guys are still a little ways off from side effects but it's alright this is mixed completely differently so you'll still be able to hear it. Haha Hans face, I had the same expression, watched these still kind of learning who everyone was so these were kind of first impressions for me. OH MY GOSH when I heard and saw the wonderland for the first time it was from beginning to end chills and the moment of silence for that high note was so appropriate, I might have screamed when I first heard it lol. Coming back to this performance after learning a bit of the lore was SO FUN too!! ♡ I been looking forward to this reaction and NOT disappointed, I LOVE when you guys do longer vids. ♡

2023-07-31 06:51:25 +0000 UTCDefinitely one of ATEEZ’s legendary performances! During this time, there was an awful lot of controversy without knowing the fact that ATEEZ basically recycled things they have used in concerts, other performances and stages. There were also some talks about Jongho not being super clean with the last note. Ugggh, despite all those hate and fanwars, i’m really just so happy that ATEEZ is out there doing what they do best! The passion, grit and love for the stage are still so evident today!!! As you can see, they are a group from a small company, yet they are just proving that talent and determination can make the world notice them!!! Can’t wait for more! Ps. Answer with Love Poem is actually my favorite stage in Kingdom. It’s super simple in ATEEZ’s standards so not everyone loves it. But from a musical perspective, i’m excited to see your reaction in that enticing performance!

2023-07-31 05:47:16 +0000 UTCFunny you should mention budget. There was a big controversy after round one aired where it was said that half of the teams were not informed of the increase in budget, so it's pretty obvious their performances were scaled down. That being said, they still did amazing with what they were given - and ultimately probably didn't change the end results of the show - but at this point, its kind of to be expected with MNET. They haven't had a controversy-free survival show yet.
Yep, I'm Liberty
2023-07-31 05:21:20 +0000 UTCSKZ and ATEEZ back to back in this episode was an absolute -monster- line-up. Like, you see SKZ, who were amazing, and you think, how is this going to be outdone? And then you see ATEEZ, whose performance is, like Mary Poppins, practically perfect in every way (but a lot sexier with more pirate and classic musical motifs). Poor SF9 is right. And they were good! But following those two, specifically ATEEZ, was just...oof. Also, I'm not sure if by the time I'm writing this someone else will have commented on this, but you both were bringing up the budget for ATEEZ's performance- there was actually quite the controversy about this at the time. I don't know all the details, but I do know several factors were in play, including something about the budgets for performances being raised but Mnet not informing three competing groups, some other competing groups/ groups' fandoms not realizing that ATEEZ re-used many props and set pieces from their tour (this is even mentioned in their segment pre-performance- HongJoong says something like "Using things we already have- I like that"), and plain ol' jealousy (on the part of toxic fans, not groups or group members- from what I heard, online fanwars were insane). What I think we can agree on is that that this performance was legendary and that every member of ATEEZ looked baller as hell- the fits tho! The fits, tho. I'd also like to acknowledge, though, all of the positive things that the groups have to say about each other during and after each performance, because it's one of my favorite parts of the show ^_^

2023-07-31 04:44:32 +0000 UTCThree of the groups were not told of the budget..so the show started out with big controversy already. You can def tell which three groups too. Ateez def came out with a bang! They were prob my favorite from the second performances. However, in the end, sometimes it is just personal preference and style.
