This is the first two tracks of the album, I am You, aptly named YOU. and I am YOU.
Great intro to the album, as well as a great music video that not only (somehow) connects with My Pace from their previous album, but also reminds us of their previous selves as artists - they really are showing how much they've improved and honed their skills as musicians, and are presenting us with this 'Hellevator'-esque piece (not necessarily in its musical atmosphere, but more so in the way they play around with the details within)!
Fun as always, the rest should be self-explanatory once you watch the video ;)

2023-07-28 20:50:14 +0000 UTCI know you guys watched the yotube album intro for one of the first EPs but all the intros for all the (mini)albums are really really great for insight in production and the meaning behind the songs. I think for this one Chan primarily wrote it as a song for his members and also the fans. The first verse was about being very grateful for being by each others side on this journey and that they wouldn’t be where they are without each other (members and Stay). Can’t wait for the rest of the album!

Good balance we think XD AND YES we did realize it, but this album in particular was especially hard going with it with 'I am You' as the second track :D love it!

While I am WHO is that transitional period in between about the journey of self-discovery. So it makes alot of sense for, like how you said, I am you to be reminiscent yet polished version of Hellavator or their earlier albums as this song or album is supposed to show the growth and acceptance of themselves.

There's nothing much to add haha this song is the one that made me realize the importance of looking up skz lyrics, I love the message and the feelings delivered, as if they're talking to us 💖 the 'let me run along with you' is just aaaaaaaahhhhh. If you're interested there's ballad version that they sang in a Jpn concert, it's really beatiful. And I just wanted to add, as someone have already said, as you did with Awkward Silence, it'll be super fun if you also react to Get Cool performance since it's super cute 😊. And yeaaaah can't wait to vibe together to N/S !!

This EP made me become STAY, (even I knew Stray Kids from God's Menu era) because I appreciated their creation and I could keep on listening to it over and over. For the MV, they made a big universe for all title tracks from Hellevator to Go Live / IN Life era. They have storyline connected almost all teasers, mv, and live performances. Don't figure it out right now...Do it whenever you have time and you will shout "Meori apeuda!!! AHHHHH!!! Hahaha.

2023-07-28 11:11:20 +0000 UTCSuper cool to draw that parallel with Hellevator- especially since in both cases there is a theme of creating something from nothing (although, in Hellevator’s case, destroying something too). I hesitate to try to explain the music video too much because I’m not sure how familiar y’all are with SKZ lore, but I personally am not the -best- at explaining it and have always interpreted the video (sans the beginning in the My Pace tunnel) as the Kids creating a special hangout spot for themselves because they realized that they can keep pace with each other, have similar goals and dreams, and want to stay together. As for the end, I think it hints at things to come. Also, I will never tire of hearing y’all point out the love and inventiveness and little unique touches that can go into music that is more on the pop spectrum. For example, y’all pointed it out, but that build-up into “stay together, you and I, you and I, etc” is so beautifully done, we have great rhythmic touches, we have members’ voices being deployed for max effect (melodic baby Felix! Rapping AND sincere singing Han! And Chang- well Changbin is still angry but he is angry in a lovely way ☺️). So thanks for once again acknowledging that there is an art and a craft to creating exceptional “traditional” pop. As always, thanks for the reaction! I’m looking forward as much as you to see where this fits in with SKZ lore in more detail. P.S. This song isn’t acknowledged as one of their romantic songs (actually I think the only happy one officially acknowledged is Case 143) and I don’t think it’s intended to be, but I do like that for gosh darn INFP hopeless romantics like me, there’s something we can plausibly artistically interpret as an early SKZ romantic song ☺️
