2023-07-20 02:12:39 +0000 UTCAnyone strong enough to hear that song and not add it immediately to their spotify playlist has to be a super human, so I tend to think it's an interesting way to ensure that people are actually streaming the song outside of youtube which i think is kind of cool. I have to watch the MV for the sick live action anime intro and then stream the song for the dope rapline. Honestly kind of genius? Also interesting since it's a pre-release because I think it'll really help build hype for the album (like I needed any more hype)

I also think it's an interesting conversation re: whether they're k-pop, given that the group is Japanese, as IIRC the CEO of their company expressly came out and said, in as many words, "we're making this group because if Korea can do it, then Japan can too," so the idea of k-pop as genre rather than country of origin takes on a new emphasis.
