first of all, thank you for all the wonderful answers to our previous question about series/films. We'll follow up very soon with some questions about that ;)
For now, we had another question regarding what content you may be interested in seeing from us IF we were to do some commentary videos (that are not drama-queen videos or controversial, we ain't about that at all), where we may be able to bring our experience to talk about some topics related to the K-pop industry, or current news, how things work, etc.
While we are more about neutral talks, feel free to let us know some potentially controversial topics you may be interested as well, partly because we're gathering data here, and partly because we can still very much stay objective and simply deliver news as someone who speaks Korean fluently and has access to info in Korean outlets, of course, depending on the topic that is.
Again, more about really being interested in what all of YOU are generally following, interested in - what that itchy section of yours is that needed a scratch but couldn't find anyone to do so because, well, nobody who speaks English is really doing that.
Also, someone mentioned via dm that they wish to see us sorta introduce ourselves in terms of our background, and what kind of music we did, etc. so if you want to see that as a patreon exclusive fun little video, let us know as well and we could do that to get to know each other better ;).
Multiple options should work.

Well, I meant to edit, not delete. Whatever, let's try again. I was just going to second what you said. I have specific channels that I watch for different things I get out of their reactions. My favorite fan-reaction one is someone that I've actually become good friends with... there one I watch who gives great insight into the dance aspect of things... and then I watch this one (meaning you guys) for all the Korean nuance explanations and the technical side of things to understand WHY it sounds so good or why certain decisions were made for the visuals. I voted "other" because this is exactly how I feel... I don't have specific requests but just want to be able to jump on the nerd train and join the fun.

I would also like to see you explain what is happening when producers are looking at their screens and making music. So like if there is a behind the scenes of a recording and they happen to show the software if you can explain what is going on with all the bars and stuff. I wanted to mention, have you ever watched Anthony Fantano? I would really like to hear someone with his wit and incisiveness review kpop. Kpop critique needs to grow beyond worrying about fan reaction and really getting into discussing the merits and detriments of songs.

Personally I ravenously search for commentary videos from experts because in all honesty I don’t want to hear fan opinions and theories and arguing because they don’t realize who or what or why decisions are ACTUALLY made and that isn’t why I love kpop. I love the language (god PLEASE don’t stop explaining nuances of Korean songs for those of us who aren’t fluent ((yet)) ) I love learning the ins and outs of the technical producing as well as the music theory and opinions on it y’all have, but yeah as long as y’all stay cool music nerds doing your thing and letting us other music nerds vibe along I’m happy with whatever y’all want to share.

Like for example if a group is actually aware if their fandom is on the toxic side or not, if they know what the fandom talks about on a daily basis or not, and if they do, do they affect the type of music, production or image the present?

2023-07-17 01:42:22 +0000 UTCI’d love to learn about you guys and your backgrounds stuff y’all did but also stuff like songs that might have a deeper meaning than we as international fans might miss if we don’t know the Korean language or different folklore like how the thunderous music video or xiker’s rockstar has the concept of dokkaebis which some might miss if they don’t know the lore behind that. I know a few songs that a lot of people needed explanations from Koreans to understand like ddaeng by BTS’s rap line or tortoise and the hare by stray kids because they reference Korean lore or Korean words or games. Also I know you guys usually focus on the actual production elements but I’d also be interested in hearing more in-depth analysis of like lyrics of songs too

I'd also be really interested in/grateful for explanations about how industry stuff is being received/reported on in Korea, and also how other news/politics impacts the industry, as right now really the only info I can handily access about that tends to be terribly shallow and clickbaity koreaboo-style gossip websites or, if I'm very lucky, commentary from a handful of accounts on instagram or tiktok, which is much more of a dice-roll re: whether I'll see it at all.
