2023-07-12 03:22:12 +0000 UTCThis was one of those songs that when the chorus hit it was an automatic "stank face" and a body roll - I don't care who you are. It was groovy as hell and done in a way only ATEEZ could do it. I was soooooo excited when we got rapper Seonghwa I had to pause it for a moment to catch my breath and then restart his part. Mingi has been becoming the "center" more and more over these past couple of albums and I am so proud of him (he's been through a lot and deserves all the great things that come his way). And Hongjoon is just getting sassier and sassier - and I'm here for it, dammit! I just got my copies of this album, so I need to read through the Diary to find any missed connections to the lore, but there are a lot references that are a little more obvious, which I'm thankful for because I couldn't, for the life of me, figure out what the hell cowboys had to do with anything. ( ・_・)ノ

2023-07-06 18:29:42 +0000 UTCLoved this reaction. I loved when you both were just silent. This definitely takes a few listens to process all of it. That is how this whole album is. There is so much to take in, I think you honestly need at least 2 listen throughs of each song just to pick up on little details they did. The production and sound design is so intense on this album. If you do the album listen, I highly recommend starting with the The World Ep 1 and then through Outlaw, and listen to the tracks in order. It will take you on a journey and listening to 1 and then 2 is even more impactful when you listen to 2 (if that makes any sense at all). The World 1 album is rebellious and angsty and this album is dark and haunting (cult like even in some ways, you will understand when you hear it). Both phenomenal and just apart from what everyone else is doing. You will be jaw dropped.

But perhaps you should react to the Showcase video of This World because their stage is incredible and you can see who's singing which parts.

2023-07-05 07:39:43 +0000 UTCYes, They've done it again.. Ateez keeps surprising me. I know they're epic and supertalented and yet with each album/track they release I'm more convinced. This song is super catchy, the chorus-dance is pretty easy to learn so now I find myself mini-dancing it everytime I hear the song, no matter where I am (at work, on the train, the gym..). I really love that they gave Seonghwa some rap in this song, same with Yeosang's part. Both are really amazing "breaks" in the song that just add some more flavour. please please listen to the rest of the album ASAP, when you listen to them close together you can really appreciate how well all the tracks fit together. It's almost like a soundtrack for a movie where they have similar vibes, instruments (maybe? idk, you're the experts lol) etc. to make it one coherent whole.

2023-07-05 07:36:53 +0000 UTCWhen Hongjoong was on Lee Mujin Service I remember him talking about how he wanted to do a fun, spicy (read:…hot) song for the summer, and to him, what better summed up Korean spiciness than the cheongyang pepper? Highly recommend that episode, it’s super fun, and unusual for both his song choices (David Bowie! Fifty Fifty! Michael Jackson!) and the fact that a group sent one of their main rappers instead of one of their main vocalists (although let’s be real, pretty much all of Ateez can do pretty much everything)

I would really recommend you going in order of the tracklist though for both of the world albums. The tracklists are done in a way where there is a storyline and gives you a cinematic experience and are best listened that way

2023-07-05 07:15:30 +0000 UTCIf you liked the fact they used sounds that played with spacial surrounding you guys should really check out JikJin by Treasure the first time I listened to it I was like oh my god. As for the rest of the album I definitely suggest checking out This World next as it’s the intro to their album and the mixing in it is sooo good definitely up there as one of my favorite openers for an album. I also can’t wait for you guys to eventually check out Stray Kids Five Star album because the intro song to the album (Hall of Fame) may be one of my favorite intros to an album possibly ever it is phenomenal.

Bouncy is a fucky song with a fucky mv and I am extremely here for it. They literally just went "what if we took the horniest possible concepts - hot cowboys, motorcycle racing, slutty pit-fighters and rebel cops - and put them all in one mv? Mingi can dance on the table doing body rolls in a cutoff vest, San can get a little blood on his mouth while Wooyoung smirks about it, and everyone looks like they're about two seconds away from doing something that we're not allowed broadcast." King shit. Full marks. Top tier content. If not for the grace of Icky by Kard, this would be the horniest k-pop song I've heard in 2023. No notes.

Honestly, I think you get the most value out of it by listening to The World: Movement and The World Outlaw as they were intended, in order. The songs make the most narrative sense in the order Ateez arranged them. That being said, I've seen a lot of love for Wake Up as one of the most-loved songs on the album. I seriously think they are all great and couldn't pick a favorite.

The album version of this song is slightly different. This song is on their new album The World Ep. 2: Outlaw .. The World Ep: 1 Movement s brother. That album having Cyberpunk, Guerrilla etc. both albums go hard. If y’all really wanna get deep in the lore there is some literature from all the diary versions of their albums. All on one site to read. 😅
