Let's Talk Apartment Decoration (+ Item Sneak Peek)

The Eek! team is grinding away on all things OFFICE PARTY, marching toward a tech demo we’ll be dropping here on Patreon very soon. (Fuck yes)

While you do your best to not bust from anticipation, let’s talk about a new feature we’re hyped to share: apartment decoration.

As DU’s newest employee, you’ll be moving into Vista Del Brah, Donghauser Unlimited’s very… unique corporate housing complex. And for the first time, you’ll have the power to decorate your space.

Currently, this decoration feature is focused around placing objects from the world in pre-designated spots around your apartment. This turns your pad into a lived-in space that's unique to you. Use this feature to unload your inventory, or place weird shit on your bedside table!

Note: You may notice (like in the screenshot above) that some decor items can be USED to improve your character's abilities. Much more on this to come in future posts. But for now, back to decorations.

Here’s the breakdown:

• You’ll move into a furnished apartment where certain items can already be re-arranged to your liking. Pick up an item to add it to your inventory (or right-click to place it directly in your hands) -- and then place the item in any of the pre-designated places (highlighted by the blue grids seen above).
  

• As you rise through the ranks of Donghauser (or stumble drunkenly into new storylines), you’ll unlock new decoration options -- stuff you can buy, earn, or even be gifted by characters.
  

• Over time, your apartment becomes a reflection of your OP story: trophies of your achievements, your (probably shitty) taste, and the choices that have led you to become the successful corporate cog you are.

  

We're just getting started on apartment decoration. Expect more news throughout development. You’ll get a taste in the upcoming tech demo, and trust us – this feature's only going to get bigger and better.
