Amazing new art for Ashara. It'll be in the patreon only release this week but that'll take till the evening(It's now noon in my country) to complete.
Someone asked me about Claymore. No, Ashara is not inspired by Claymore, infact, although I really enjoyed it, I didn't even know of the manga/anime before. Have to admit though, the similiarity is uncanny. http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2010/153/b/e/CLAYMORE_teresa_by_masateru.jpg

Heh. Having grown up in a martial arts dedicated family(no really) I can tell you that even a long wooden staff can give you a serious workout if you try and use it in combat. sure it doesn't weight much, but you have to accelerate it, and slam it against more or less squishy surfaces.

Well, most people haven't tried to swing real swords so it doesn't quite register in their heads that these are made with steel and they are not light weight.

I usually tell artists 'something that could work in actual combat' and let them be. Thats why by comparison to most fantasy works, it seems thin and short. I'm a fan of this series: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcsLd3dVNz8&index=6&list=PLxClq4a6GD73kaPeAWbchwwixKl7z1oFS
