Commission Maps for March (v2.20 and v2.21)
Added 2020-02-08 18:40:12 +0000 UTC(Make sure you didn't miss the post explaining commissioning in general)
For Patrons and Contributors: Please respond to this post before Feb 28 if you want to commission map(s) for March. Your maps will added to the game and uploaded to the Mega optional map folder in either of the two March updates, i.e. v2.20 or v2.21. Please note:
- Please include the city or town's name, state (if applicable) and country to ensure I get the right one.
- (Optional) Mention any area / neighborhood of the city you want to focus on or make sure to be included. By default, I always go for the city / town centre and an area the size that the game's engine can handle so if you live in the suburb for example, I may end up missing it from the map if you don't say anything.
- How plentiful or accurate the map data is for the commissioned map is outside of my control and is dependent on whether OpenStreetMap has any volunteers in that area (you can check on OpenStreetMap first to see if there's a good amount of data for your area). Even in the more remote areas though, they usually know how many buildings are there - just don't know what the buildings are used for - which means the map would be fine for gameplay if you use the "Randomize Unknown Buildings" feature. You can also try contributing data to the OpenStreetMap project itself to improve the area before commissioning a map from me.
The maximum number of commissions per month for the patron tiers are as follows:
- $1+: 1 map (you'll have to pick between map or scene though)
- $3+ : 1 map (+ 1 scene also if you want)
- $5+ : 2 maps
- $10+ or Contributors : 4 maps
- $15+ : 6 maps
- $20+ : 8 maps
- $25+ : 10 maps
- $30+ : 12 maps
- $40+ : 16 maps
- $50+ : 20 maps

Isn’t it already available as an optional map on the Mega folder? Unless the current LA map is missing some specific area that you want me to do.

2020-02-09 01:04:44 +0000 UTCYou can sort of create custom map data right now that I can make a map out of, just not with a GUI world builder, but with a text editor. If you select a small area on OpenStreetMap and export it into OSM file. You can open that OSM with a text editor - you'll find building and road data (name, coordinates etc) in there in XML format. You can add more buildings if you keep the structure so you end up with a custom fictional one.

2020-02-09 00:32:34 +0000 UTCCannock, England, Staffordshire, UK. It's a town of 22,000 people. Well just in the Cannock town centre part anyway. If you can get the surrounding districts of Heath Hayes, Hednesford, Bridgtown in as well that would be great. (https://www.openstreetmap.org/search?query=cannock#map=15/52.6911/-2.0159) Derby, England, Derbyshire, UK. Just the City Centre would probably be fine but if you can get more that would also be good. Can't think of any more maps. Besides I don't want to overwhelm you with loads.

2020-02-08 23:13:14 +0000 UTCJust a note but when and if it become possible to create and edit city maps (fictional ones anyway), I would like to offer my service for creating them to include with the base game (or alternatively, a DLC). Something to keep in mind for the long-term future when time comes for that. Like I said before on Discord server, I like creating cities. ;)
