ALF Never Did a Gay Episode

“We Are Family” (May 2, 1988)

Finally, at long last, ALF! This is the first in a new series where Drew and Glen discuss shows that never quite did a gay episode but we nonetheless pick the episode that comes closest to be gay. In this episode, ALF contemplates coming out as an alien, even if going public might poses risks to his personal liberties. Sandy Duncan does and does not make a cameo.

Watch NBC’s 75th anniversary special, where ALF makes a cameo and in doing so pissed off Tina Fey.

This episode’s outro track is “Hallo ALF, Hier Ist Rhonda” by Tommi Piper with Amélie Sandmann, which is perhaps not surprisingly unavailable on all the American streaming services.

The Mork from Ork episode of Happy Days qualifies as a Weird Episode. It was a dream episode, but it was like the Dick Van Dyke show: you don’t find out it's a dream until the end. When it was on first run, it ended with Robin Williams showing up at the door but he’s like a salesman or he's just a guy who's lost. According to Wikipedia, in an ending shot for the summer 1978 rerun, it turns out the man really is Mork, and he made it seem like the entire event was a dream. He recounts the events to his superior Orson, who assigns him to modern-day 1978, leading up to the events of Mork and Mindy. Supposedly this ending now airs in syndication, but I can't find it anywhere. But that's your 1950s-to-modern day explanation.

Well that's understandable. My abused rescue went to the other extreme. He is just so happy when anyone is nice to him. He expects it now and just flops down in front of them and shows his belly. Unless you ring the doorbell, then you're obviously an axe murderer. Dogs!
