2024-07-22 18:18:20 +0000 UTCI couldn't agree more. And on top of that, CA has also been doing repeats of models already in their library. 2B, Morrigan, Emma Frost and many others are being repeated. I'm subbed to this patreon for the quality of the sculpts, of course. But when characters start getting repeated, or there are just alternate versions of what everyone else is doing, it seems like I'm getting a lot less value for my $20 a month. The VIP polls are a total waste of time. Most people who vote there just go for whatever has the biggest tits or sexiest pose, and almost never for a truly unique and interesting model. How do we not have a Baron Vladimir Harkonnen yet? Cos he's a fat ugly floating dude who is arguably one of the most sinister villains in Science Fiction? Come on guys. Do better.

FYI, the Nun with Guns is probably a reference to the Netflix show "Warrior Nun".

Since I don't have a model for any of the options I am not super upset. But I don't get the Nun with Guns one, if its a reference to some comic or movie - I honestly haven't seen it (nor do I care for it >_<) and League of Legends I know, but don't much care for. Although - with the animated show out on Netflix and being very good. I guess I might have printed her. If Karlach would have won - getting her all the scars, and muscles and not toning any of that down for sexyness would have been okay. But yeah ^^ Samus outside her suite is horny-fodder. Maybe we get some good references with her, somewhat in the suite or interacting with a metroid... one can hope.

Both of my pics, Anime character of the month and female character of the month have the least number of votes, but they the least popular but also the most unique. I too, have many subscriptions, until last month I had 60+ subscriptions, actually. Both Jazmine and Alice would be great models that not many creators have done.

I follow and sub time to time other patreons and it's really annoying seing the same stuff over and over again, and great characters (even popular ones) never get a chance because it's either a more popular character or a thirst trap that gets all the votes. Look at Alice, guess why she doesn't get picked: doesn't have a horny pic like red riding, snow white, evil queen had. I love CA3d models, these sculprors are very talented and that's why I support them, but I think sometimes their skills are wasted on all these main stream characters with even basic or boring poses cuz that's what ppl want

2024-06-09 14:54:23 +0000 UTCMaybe fatigue factors into your state of mind? If as you say you are subscribed to many different creators for this field of 3d model making. This would also mean that you most likely have a significant backlog of characters not yet printed or painted. If you whittle your subscription of these kinds of models down to 1 or 2 you will end up with much less "all the same" and most of us realisticly don't even have time to print and paint what one creator offers with work and life getting in the way ^^. On MMF there are "tribes" with wicked cool original creatures (of course that stuff is all original so you can't suggest pop cultur chars like here - but just saying if you are looking for something wildly different) None of this will change that there is a general direction these modeller follow - but that will probably not change. As just giving lesser know characters as options will not satisfy the majority who knows just the popular 3 animes, 4 movies and 2 games. And putting just one more know character in there will have that model be the surefire winner. So what to do? Then there is of course the artists themselfes - if they are just not interested in some of the stuff suggested I would not want to force them into it - it won't end up being a great model if they are not excited about doing it. The only thing I don't super enjoy (only having been a VIP for 2 months) is the very predictable horny votes. As soon as a character reference or option shows more bobby or butt - it is the popular vote. And - as a grown man with a partner - I am not going to have horny dolls displayed all over my house. I want those cool references to shows and games and movies I watch. Like the Rani one, or Goku, Death, Mononoke, etc. They can have a NSFW option if you need it. But really great character models who have poses that perfectly mirror their character are what attracted me here in the first place.

I get some may feel a particular artist wants to give a character their own spin. And they are in their right of course. Maybe creators should look at what other artists already did, and unless is a unique version, not even offer the same models on a poll. Im fed up with the same characters from Marvel, DC, Anime done over and over and over again by at least 20 different artists. I subscribe for their style and creativity. TMNT diorama? Done. Samus, Bayonetta, Rogue, Albedo, Thundercats, MOTU? All done. 2B, Dune, Deadpool v Wolverine, X-23.... Same. Seems they all get in the same bandwagon of whats popular today, and leave original works and their own creativity to rot... I honestly vote for the one with least votes 90% of the time, because either new subs get excited and want another version of a character already released to death (months, even years ago) by several others (and yet ANOTHER remake wins), or because (you may hate me for this) I simply do not care for a single option. And every time I suggest any character, from any show or media, doesnt even make it to the poll. So why bother? I applaud creative endeavors (like the Gods of Olympus just released, Kuton history oriented works, and yes, even the artist take on a well knows character -B3DSERK/Wicked-). But lately it's getting stale. Not one artist, but all of them. Creators either started this creative and expressive media of modeling because their love for the art of it, or for money. Either is fine. Yet every creator should also take a look at why people subscribe: Is it because the uniqueness of their style? The bang for the buck they get with their sub? Or they literally follow you because they love what YOU AS A CREATOR BRING TO THIS OVER POLLUTED CREATIVE WORLD? I know for an artist mind is hard as well to come up with new, unique concepts, several times a month, every month. I know that printers dont run on hope, and they have bills to pay. This does not mean that repeating overdone characters is alright. We are still customers, the ones that make your printers run. It feels a bit disrespectful. Not trying to get anyone worked up, or offend. Simply talking about the service offered, the money payed, the expectations, and the slap of "Oh well dont have time this month to come up with anything new, so heres another Karlach... Enjoy!". Like WTF? I just been here a few months, and there are creators I sub to that I truly respect, and other I just sub to pick up whatever they offer, sometimes good, many times mediocre. CA3D falls in the first group, and this is why this poll put a question mark next to my brow (like the emoji): "Nah man, you too? With Samus, Karlach, Asuka and Nami? Really? Right after you knocked out the park with the Olympus Diorama, and the announcement of Disney's Hercules diorama?!" I just hope inspiration flows, and this does not become a habit. Ps. Dont even show me the door. I dont want to leave, I just want to see Carlos do what we all love, and keep getting his awesome models. Love you all!

I’ve been vip for 12 months now and the character choice quality is just getting worse and worse. Thankfully the sculpting is still excellent
