This episode was released in fall of 2006. I know that was almost 20 years ago, but 20 years really isn't that long in terms of evolving societal norms. Every time I see this episode–or literally any episode of Scrubs, well, I still enjoy the show, but I also think about how relatable a less over-the-top version of Oscar's experience was ...even into the 2000s. It's true for other out groups now and after an eventual societal attitude shift, we'll find a new group to isolate. In some ways it feels like you know, on the whole, we've all moved forward. And we have. We just really really aren't so far removed from things like the Voting Rights Act being passed. 1965 was only 20 years before I was born. That used to seem like ancient history, but that's this episode of the Office. The Selma March and Bloody Sunday were 1965. Watts and the assassination of Malcolm X were in '65. I don't know where I'm rambling off to. I guess I'm happy that we're generally, collectively moving in the direction where we tend to treat one another with some humanity, but I'm also kind of bummed out by how low a bar that is to clear and by our track record. Public ramble over. I'll take it to my head. Apologies. Hope everyone has a lovely Wednesday.

You right Dwight made pam laugh but you gotta remember, it was Jim’s prank sending him that metal detector, he’s gone but she still got a laugh through his prank at the end

I was pressed for this episode to drop 😂 there are too many bangers back to back so I’m glad you paused 😂 Michael is such a dumb ass but you really can’t hate him bc he’s not tryna be hateful lmaooo. He really tried to get his homophobia out by forcing himself to kiss Oscar like huh 😂😂😂😂😂

"Homophobic paper" had me cracking UP!! And you're right, this episode had a LOT! You did a great job keeping up and it was smart to pause the show, collect your thoughts, and backtrack a little! I love your Office reactions, they are as enjoyable as your movie reactions and that is REALLY saying something!!!!💜💜
