I know your past experiences with Iron Maiden have not been the best, but I have a good suggestion with a phenomenal groove, incredible nasty guitar riffs, and amazing transitions. Try the studio version of βRevelationsβ from the Piece of Mind album. The bass playing is incredible and their breakdowns in this song back to the original groove I think you both will enjoy.
