Too bad you fellas can't get past Phil Anselmo's drunken stupidity because Pantera has some of the grooviest and catchiest metal of all time. Really cheating yourselves out of some fantastic music.

In my view it's kind of a "heavy metal trance" scene where the mood is trying to commuicate a feeling. Some things you could try next if you liked the vibe of Agalloch (old song warning!) - Cult of Luna - Finland - Ulver - Capitel I: I Troldskog Faren Vild (first song) - The 3rd and the Mortal - Why So Lonely - Katatonia - Brave (very early Katatonia, not like their later stuff you know) If you're really game, try Dark Throne - Transylvanian Hunger but you will hate it. Epic atmosphere though.
