Paula knew she couldn't hide from her pursuer, but for a second she felt safe as she lay huddled on the sand. Fate then broke down all the more relentlessly when the amazon girl grabbed her from behind and pulled her up. The Slayer had her in a headlock in no time, so Paula thought her neck was being clamped in a vise. The muscular forearms pressed on her neck from the front and back, so that Paula gradually noticed how her throat was becoming more and more constricted. She could only breathe very shallowly and panted as the beach in front of her eyes began to blur. At first she tried to defend herself with her limited freedom of movement. She grabbed back at the slaver's head and shoulders. But as her strength dwindled more and more, she kept slipping and couldn't get hold of her tormentor. Because she was being held down at the same time, kicking her legs was useless as her opponent had planted her feet on the sand beyond her reach.
Just as Paula was at the end of her tether and on the verge of collapsing on the beach, her head was brutally thrown to the ground and, unable to resist, she already feared what attack would come next.
