Fear gave the girls incredible powers and they ran for their lives. However, they stood no chance against the girl slayer's horse, which had been trained for years for speed and appeared to be all muscle.
The Amazon was wielding a huge bullwhip in her right hand and Paula, who was a little slower than Eileen, suddenly felt a searing pain under her shoulder blades. She cried out in shock and pain, and stumbled forward. Again and again the pursuer let the whip crack down on Paula's back. The pursued feared she would faint from the pain, but gritted her teeth and ran on.
Concentrating so much on her aching body, Paula missed a rock that was lying on the sand and tripped over it. Before she knew it, she landed head first on the soft sand of the beach. The fall didn't hurt, but she knew in a split second that it was over for her.
Eileen, turning to look at her friend, was just in time to see the slayer dismounting from the saddle and about to pounce on her prey to subdue it. After they had already let Nadine down, Eileen didn't have to think long because she knew that it was her only chance of a successful escape if her pursuer was busy with Paula.
