The middle group have received the most votes from those of us that listen to entire albums and know the gems that are not the radio play standards. Highway Star is a perfectly fine song, but it's not even close to Deep Purple's greatest. It's the release that got more play than most other DP songs and more than most others on this list. Therefore, it's winning on name recognition alone, similar to how we seem to be voting for presidents over some key elections. We can't say that the one who wins is always the best choice, can we?
