Led Zeppelin is great because each musician is a virtuoso and the GOAT on their instruments and vocals. They are also great because of innovation and experimentation as well as edginess and just being different than anything else. That’s why some don’t like them, they don’t fit into that mainstream box that “average people” like. They’re dangerous musically. To quote Wayne’s World, “Led Zeppelin didn’t write music that everybody liked, they left that to The Bee Gees.”

2022-07-01 23:30:10 +0000 UTCLet me try to help. A couple of things. First in the early 70's we had school dances and proms with live bands. Everyone went to the dances. This song started out as a slow dance that turned into a fast dance. That turned into memories. Second, we didn't have the library of different genres that you have 50 years later to compare to. So, it was new and different.
