2022-11-21 14:51:11 +0000 UTC3 years later and I am sure that a million people have said this but the drumming sound is flat because it was all recorded "live". It has to do with the tech that was available at the time and as well you were not recording individual instruments and honing in their individual sound then. These days everything is recorded separate of each other instrument. You can record and delete as you wish vs having it straight recorded to an actual tape. There is so much more to it and I am sure I got plenty wrong in my generalization but I will let others enlighten everyone on why the sound was so flat back then
