For each chapter part, Vendak tries to aim for at least 1000 words. Most though, actually end up being just a little bit higher then that. Writing the chapter parts in 1000 word increments, makes it easier for him to both write them and then to schedule them after. In chapter 27, there is a 1300 word chapter part. :)
