4:33, not to get too technical (I study psychology) the brainβs flight or fight instincts include a sense of fear that activates it. Know this, our amygdala (a gray matter inside the left and right hemispheres of your brain that processes all emotions) perceives threat based on past experience. Maybe it can be as simple as scary pranks that we go through, but after that experience our brains tend to take info of this specific emotion and store it for whenever something similar happens. Which is why our flight & fight instincts come from the amygdala. It is what perceives what we should run from and fight for. For instance, going into a horror house or something. You know youβre not in real danger, but your brain remembers a time where you felt this type of fear before for the first time. It cannot decipher fear from fake danger from real danger. They still categorize as the same fear. And it is why people like assassins and spys can train that part of their brain by going through the same experiences until they no longer fear anything.
