JIMIN'S 'FACE' EP REVIEW..

JIMIN'S 'FACE' EP REVIEW..

Comments

I'm so proud of him as well, I've seen the analysis but again I don't really take those too seriously bc there's so many possibile interpretations, as he himself said. I interpreted it differently for example but that's really it, it's fun and fine to have different theories n stuff but I just take these sensitive topics so seriously for certain reasons that I personally would rather be careful about it when speaking for someone else about it. But I understand ur points entirelyπŸ’œ

Sure u could think that way, but in my opinion it still feels more respectful to keep our interpretations as interpretations rather than tell people that our thoughts on him is factual y'know? Theories are fun and fine but for me personally it feels invasive. You ofc can do what you want but out of respect I'd rather not speak for him. That's just me personally no disrespect to you.

I definitely think we shouldn't spread theories willy nilly, but I think it is important to see the messages that Jimin has presented in this album, especially in the Like Crazy mv and choreo. Of course it's none of our business at the end of the day, but we can't dismiss the possibility that Jimin wants to be better understood through this new project. Maybe it's his sexuality he's exploring, maybe it's gender based, maybe it's just him throwing away all toxic masculinity and embracing his feminine side more. However I think there are very obvious signs pointing to one of those topics. Either way, I'm just so proud of him for sharing his raw feelings in this album πŸ’œ Also if you're interested in seeing why these theories are so strong, here's a Twitter post with a brilliant analysis of the Like Crazy choreo: https://twitter.com/sugatradamus/status/1639875021429673985?t=K2A2l_t13OVbzZUoEekvbw&s=19

While i agree that people shouldn't be obsessing over anyones sexuality, you must understand that there's reasons for these theories, right? Yes, Jimin did say that Like Crazy was based on a movie that he enjoyed but he also said that he used the story in the movie as a metaphor to convey his own emotions and struggles. He's a real artist and there's real purpose behind this project, he didn't just write a pop song about a movie randomly. The whole album is about Jimin chronologically diving deep within himself during the pandemic years and uncovering things that he kept hidden and undealt with (his words not mine). Also, details matter, we know he chose the german poem in smf2, so we know he's involved in everything. He's wearing pants with a pic of a famous gay photographer, there's queer references in a lot of things he has done in recent times, it's not a coincidence or a reach. Some fans like to dig deep and really decipher the art they are presented with while others prefer to causally listen to it and don't care about the message behind it. Just different styles of enjoying things, as long as we are respectful of each other its fine!

People love obsessing over his sexuality for some reason, it's such a personal thing and it kinda feels invasive to see people speak for him about it. He clearly explained what Like Crazy was about and said he wanted us to just take what he says as is so don't take these theories too seriously haha

Ok SO going off of what I've learned from Jimin's interviews and from Twitter discussions, here's what I think. The album tells a complete story. Starting with Face Off, he's talking about someone hurting him (some ppl said it could also be himself, his insecurities, his anxiety, depression, etc.). Then the Interlude sounds like he's running away/towards something (maybe running away from the past pain and towards a good dream, hence the clip from the Busan concert, i.e. his dream). And at the end he's pouring a drink, which brings us to Like Crazy. In this song he's trying to get lost in the high of the night to forget his pain, but at the end of the night when morning comes, he's still hurting (hence the mud, it's still dark and painful at the end of that high and he's left feeling dirty). Then he wakes up, which brings us to Alone (the song starts with an alarm). He wakes up after the haze of the night and realizes that he still feels the same. Alone and stuck on repeat (he tries to console himself by saying "it'll be alright" then the bg vocals say "lie lie lie lie"). Also keep in mind he said this album lays out his feelings during the pandemic so I think it made him feel very alone and trapped in a repeating cycle. Lastly, we reach SMF Pt. 2 where he decides he's gonna leave all that shit in the past and set himself free. He said in an interview that he was able to overcome all these feelings and that he's doing very well now thank God. Ok DONE. πŸ’œ

Letter is really heartfelt! As much as we think that it is a letter to ARMY, it could also be interpreted as a letter to his bangtan boys. either way, its a masterpiece and I’m glad it is being released, despite it being a hidden track! Would be a crime to put it in the vault.

Extreemely

It’s not on the album, because it wasn’t for ARMY. If it was for you US you better believe Jimin would put in on there album, duh. It was hidden because it was for someone else.
